Too bad you're not able to reread my post, you would find that in no part of it did I disrespect the 430. As always, I love the 430.

    Lemme chime in..

Funny thing is that Honda's only super car (NSX) is better than alotta Ferraris out there ! AND CHEAPER TOO.

    /end

ps: I would still buy a 355 over an NSX tho.

Posted in the other thread so its appropriate here as well, Recently at a swank restaurant/bar where they park nice cars right in front saw a NSX get moved to the back lot for a 328 to be in its place, oh well guess the management didn't care the NSX was faster and more reliable and cheaper, the owner should have ran up with some performance stats from a few mag rags to agrue his case and keep his front spot instead of being thown in the back with the other Hondas and such.

They figured the NSX was reliable enough to make it back from the back lot without breaking down.

I agree that the Ferrari badge may carry a certain quality that gets it parked up front regardless of age, model etc, but this shouldnt be a reason why a Ferrari is a better car than the NSX.... lets not get into this sort of discussion or it will just potentially validate/provide evidence as to what some NSX owners may think... that Ferrari drivers are just posers/wankers... which I'm pretty darn sure we are not....

Earlier today, I was having lunch in restaurant in San Diego and an attractive woman and her female friend ask me if the seats next to me at the bar are taken. The woman is wearing a red Ferrari cap with SF shield prominent. I told her "great cap" and she smiles, says thanks, and mentions that she got the cap in Monaco, when she went to see the GP and how she was once a huge Senna fan, loves racing, etc. Recognizing my obligation as silver subscribed here, I tell her I have a Ferrari and she goes on effusively about "you're so lucky, such beautiful cars" in the voice most women use to describe any baby.

I kept waiting for her to say something about unreasonable service intervals, weak clutches and how Honda fielded a hell of a team, but somehow it never came up. ;)

Ferraris get parked up front because, for all their mechanical tantrums, and whether we think they make sense or not, all of us -- whether we've owned one or not -- enjoy our rare chances to see one in the sheet metal.

That statement applies to anyone with the "car-guy" gene.

Not sure the post was about that - there's inherent beauty and drama in the cars, and people like looking at them. As I said, they're rare. I was parked deliberately far away from a shop, near a black Corvette C6 several months back (my 328 is also a very conservative metallic black); the '06 Corvette could pound a 328 in any numerical way you could come up with, and they cost about the same (I don't think it was a Z06, but I wasn't looking too closely). But people walked up to me out of nowhere to find out what year mine was. I certainly wasn't bragging about the value or performance stats of my car, and it's not like I drive a red F40 that screams for attention.

You know, you have to say something about style. No matter what you drive, Ferrari has a style all its own. There truly beautiful cars, every one of them.

You have to ask yourselves. What came first the chicken, or the egg? In other words who copied who? Has Ferrari copied Honda, or has Honda copied Ferrari. I think even die hard NSX people, have to admit, the NSX was, is a Japanese Ferrari. Truthfully the Japanese actually did do a pretty good job on this car.

If you have ever been to Japan, as I have many times. They as a people, are absolutely in love with
Italian style. The furniture, the fashion, and the food. It’s no wonder they would do what they so very well, and take a great original idea, and do there best to improve upon it, as they have done so many times.

They would have put a more Ferrari like engine in the car, if the grass roots development curve, had not been so dramatic. I’m sure we will see something like that in generations to come.

You know Jon's right, people just love to look at them, and honestly, I take great personal satisfaction just looking at mine in the garage. I’m sure most owners feel the same way.

I always try to look at the up side of everything. At least Honda chose to copy a Ferrari, not a Corvette. That doesn’t really mean anything. But I do have a considerable amount of respect for Honda’s design & engineering judgment, and taste.

In closing, I have lurked a bit on NSX Prime lately. I’m sure the guy’s there don’t really mean any of the really nasty things they have been saying about the 348’s. I know we all can say really stupid things at times.

However, once I do get my turbos on, I would love to “respectfully”, and “Sportingly”, (meaning as friends, not foes) like to go out and do a couple hot laps with one of you really speedy NSX guys. I think you need to have a real world, reality check.

Your cars may have been based on a Ferrari, but our 348’s are, and always have been Ferrari to the bone.

OMG, I´ve been missing this great post all this time!

I can´t understand why JustMe owned so many Ferraris all these years if they are so bad as he said. I suppose there must be something good in them...

Someone please show me an NSX that can top 180 with only the cats removed. I really want to see that.

*came from his post in the link to the NSX forum

All you have to do, is read the comparisons done between the NSX and the Civic of Ferraris. The Civic of Ferraris usually won them. Not to mention it looks much, much better. Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to make themselves feel better about their car.

That'll be difficult. Comparing modded cars to eachother is not necessarily time well spent. If you throw out the challenge, you may have some of the fastest NSXs in the world show up. And then when you have your 348 lined up against 800whp race car NSXs, then youll say that it wasnt fair. And youd be right. So out comes a F430 Challenge car with 10 turbos strapped to its ass. If youre looking for a real world comparison, youd be looking at about 350 to 375 wheel horse power via a comptech supercharger. Which is a 4 hour bolt on mod that costs, all in, about $10k and is as reliable as an accord and can be driven daily (as I drive mine).

Regardless, show us pics of your 348. I freaking love those 348s. One of the most beautiful cars ever made. Love the Speciales.

You should see if the Fcar guys want to put together a drive or a track day with the local NSX guys. We do that in Toronto. I have to say, I love those days (although I missed the last one here). Both groups would be better for it.

we did something like that, only it was a Honda vs Nissan trackday. needless to say the R34 GTR's pretty much wiped the floor with everything else, would be good to see some modified NSX's and a few fcars show up.
