What's the word? Did you make your trip yet Capone? Had a bumpy flight last week and spilled my Scotch. Total travesty.

I did it. I took xanax and it helped tremendously. The flight back was bumbp during the ascent but otherwise it was O.K.!

I was going to suggest taking a seat on the fire exit row(s), not because of the exit itself, but because those two rows offer 4-6 more inches of legroom. That's HUGE.
However, some airlines are onto that, and want to charge $10-15 more per seat on those rows.

Glad you made the trip OK.

funny same thing happened to me but not with women. My had to do with my health. I had a pretty bad panic attack couple days before do to work. After my panic attack, I thought there was something really wrong with me physically. I still felt the symptons like I was going to die. I had a flight to Montreal for the race. I have always been somewhat afraid of flying, well anyways that day on the plane was my worst flight ever. Never felt turbulence like that. The plane dropped 600 ft. everybody including my wife were freaking out. Well I guess it really did not bother me because I was so focused on my health. I really thought there was something wrong with me, that I didn't even care about the turbulence. Bottom line is your mind can't focus on two things at one time. Try focusing on something else, I think anybodys fear flying has to do with the fear of not being in control.

    Bumping the post:

I just got offered a trip to India, all expenses paid. I would be gone for Chirstmas and the new year, but I get a free trip to India. I need to make my decision by next Saturday. The thing is, I am afraid of flying and I'm not sure if a 24 hour flight is a great way to break the ice. How long is a flight to India from SFO, about 24-to-34 hours? How great was that xanax stuff Capone? I might need some.

Yeah, tell me what airline and exactly what kind of aircraft, and I can tell you exactly which rows and seats to sit in - or avoid.

They usually fly United to La Consa (never heard of it.) We would be flying regular class. But, they do not have the tickets yet and my sister was telling me that the Usual United to La Consa is expensive right now, so they might go a different route with the airliner.

United is a great carrier. I'd suggest an aisle seat and sit with friends, if you can.

I still think you guys with a hesitation of flying should contact your local flight school (New Cessnas would be best) and take an intro flight. They will (should) let you take the controls.

I am taking a free course from fearofflying.com right now, lol. I am not really afraid of the flight, I just don't like the idea of being so high in the air. My main concern I guess you could say is heights.

I know it is a safe way to travel.

Take off is scary, I hate take off. But hey, I haven't been on a plane since I was 8. I am 18 now, lol, I think I need to overcome it. None the less, I am going to accept the invitation. I get a free trip to India. I get to experience a different culture, a different part of the globe, how cool is that? Now all I need to do is pick up some Anaxa.
