Who else is camping out for the PS3/Wii?

I heard alot of people who pre-ordered their PS3's through Gamestop won't be getting them. Thats about 75% of all the PS3 pre-orders on eBay. Camping out is the next only option.

 

One of my employees boyfriend was gonna do it, and I have to admit I was gonna go after work today and see if I could get one. But every Walmart around already had a long line, Sams Club was not giving out tix and it was first come/first served. I have work to do and no way I am camping out two days for this.

Besides, there will be more PS3's coming in between Friday and XMas right? So all you need to do is keep on the stores and ask when their shipment comes in, and when it does, be there to grab one.

All the WalMart's around here said they were generally getting 10 or 12 units, 3-4 of the 60gb's and 6-9 of the cheaper ones.

F-this. I'm gonna go to Sears on Sunday and see if I can get a Wii. If not, I'll just wait.

I'm baffled at the morons who are bidding these PS3's up to $2k or $2.3k on eBay. Ridiculous!

 

I drove by a target yesteday and saw a line, none at best buy... we'll see what it's like tomorrow after work :-/

 

Screw this!! Some people are just real hardcore...there are already people camping out at Walmarts in HICKTOWNS!!!! I have no idea how people can do this. It'd be funny if someone had an RV and parked it right infront of the store to camp out! OWNAGE!

 

ive been told that target will not allow lines until 8 tommorrow night. People that are waiting are making lists of who have been there but that wont hold up. we shall see after work. The compusa is only selling ps3 to people who buy a 40" tv. Im not even sure if that is allowed.

I just heard Ebay will not allow you to sell them on Ebay unless you are a store. They are cracking down on the resales.

Wait, there must me more to this.

If I started a 7 day auction last Friday, it would end tomorrow (the day I could have my hands on a PS/3).

I think that is why there are listings up on eBay now that are not being pulled down - because they are for actual units that will ship when the auction concludes.

As for eBay taking down PS3's and only letting you sell them if you are a store - that must be for preorders. eBay would have no right to pull down auctions for ANY product that did not violate their TOS.

 

I've heard reports that people around here started camping out Tuesday for the PS3. I assume that people go in groups so that individuals can use bathrooms while others continue to hold their place in line. One guy here actually brought a recliner to Best Buy so he could wait in comfort!

 

Making someone buy one thing in order to get the desired good is called tying. It is not always illegal, but can be.

Either way, making someone buy a TV they may or may not want or need to get the game system is dirty pool - far worse than forcing people to buy expensive game bundles.

 

Now with less than 24hrs & counting, the fun really begins.

Lots of losers in front of the Best Buy near my office today.

 

I saw somewhere the PS3's are overheating worse than the 360's were. & won’t run the older PS2 software. One of many reasons I'll be glad to wait 6 months or so until the glitches are taken care of.

 

I just checked Ebay and it seems there are a lot of these for sale. So, I don't know what the news channel was talking about. Maybe Ebay changed their mind or maybe this policy take effect once they are avail. at the stores.

 

Seems Best Buys here aren't letting people camp, I drove by one on the way to work this morning and saw no line. Heard it's a 12hr prior to launch camp, so maybe hope

 

Drove by my local Walmart today around 2 mst already 4 people in line.

 

I just got back from my local Wallymart. There are about a dozen or more people that have been waiting in line inside the store for two days.

 

Its pouring with rain here. We have tornado watches, flood warnings and severe weather alerts. I think i made a smart move to stay here. Sucks for the people waiting.

 

I meant preorders mostly, but what you're referring to I'm pretty sure is against their TOS as well. You'd be selling something you don't have.
