Mark P. just told me to reserve a room untill further notice. So that means that we are full. We will have to think about relocating people. But first we need to hear something from the Fattoria. Maybe they only want to give us 8 rooms again.

Whoever joins us after the first 8 (or first 10 if we are lucky) can easily be placed in one of the many Agriturismos not far from Poggio Alloro. This can be done any time next year.

Ton, what we must do now is start a 2-way diplomatic effort to try and convince Poggio Alloro to give us all the rooms they have :)

I don't think that there is a need for an explanation. Our Testarossa driver has different plans.

    Hi Mark,

Passo de la Futa is always worth to take it twice, so Andrea will find a way to insert this piece of fun - way up or way down.
We are just figuring out the best roads through our alpine noodle pot - especially for all the cars coming from the north. :)
We like to offer a lot of diversification, not alway the same roads.
Expecting most crews tired when they finally reach Austria, a first albergo
    in Trentino is already considered.
But you have to overcome 3-4 passes before you can strech your legs there. :D

    cheers,

    cinque

Patrick, we should find a hotel in Austria (Seefeld in Tirol) so that we can all drive together across the Alps on sunday and eat at my favourite restaurant in Trentino (2 Km from my house :) ).

BTW - I just heard about Wolfgang, what is going on???? We can't have a trip without Wolfgang & Anja!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha ha, Wolfgang already planned something different at that time. Let's hope that he will be able to join us next year.

Well, from "Seefeld in Tirol" it's just a few minutes to enter all the good pass roads of Trentino; )
You can do them in a quick loop after tea time and can be back for dinner just in time. But expect 10 celsius more on the southside of the brenner. :D
Seefeld is VERY chilly in average.

What, even at the end of June? :)

We should do the Brennero highway to get into Italy, then from Vipiteno we take the Passo del Giovo to Meran, then we take the Mendola Pass "upwards" towards Cles (the inverse of our last drive in July), and we drive to Flavon where my favourite restaurant is :)

We should try as hard as we can to keep our Fchat group together. Last year it was not a very big succes for Eugenio and Maura. I personally would also NOT be happy if I was placed in another agriturismo away from the rest.
I have sent the Fattoria Poggio Alloro a reminder email and told them that I will call them this weekend. I will keep you updated on the results.
I found on a website that they have a total of 10 rooms. That is what I am going for!!! :D

GO FOR IT!!! Use your Belgian charme with the Poggio Alloro girl :), she's the really tough one I had to argue with last year. Her uncle (the farmer) is a nice guy and he wouldn't have a problem giving us 20 rooms, but she's really tough and she's the one that manages the customers...

I'm waiting to see if the Munich people finally call me. If I could get that job it'd be like winning the lottery.

I've already promised myself that if I do go to Munich I'll immediately order a metallic black F430 F.1 with tan leather and yellow brake pads. :) :) :) I really look forward to that.

I'd love to stretch my budget that far... but then we would also need a house to live in and some food to eat :)

Rachel could always stay at your parents and begging for food on the street is not so bad :D especially if there is a 599 on the drive :)

I think she'd leave me to do the begging and take the 599 with her and the baby :D

Yes, it is located on a high plateau which is in the shadow for many hours per day.
If it rains, the rain clouds are stuck between the mountains.
And it's not a warm italian rain shower but cold teutonic water :D never ending ....
I was there this summer. Trust a biker!

We can go Brennero highway or we can go on the Brennerstrasse parallel.
Some good curves on the Brennerstrasse.
In Vipiteno we can take the Passo del Giovo to Meran which is a tight road at most parts.
Did it last year on my way back.
Have to admit it is a little bit dangerous in the forrest when oncoming traffic is 'sleepin'.
The other option, Penser Joch, is better IMO because not well known, ergo not so many cars, tourists, campers, villages, children playing on the road etc...
Penser Joch is complete desert in some sectors.

Ok! I used my DUTCH charme. :)
Unfortunately the Fattoria does NOT accept bookings for 2007 before January. I asked her politely to put our names in the agenda anyway and that I will contact her again in early January.
