Police Car Appears to be Drag Racing.

Wouldn't the people leave seeing him pull up? Strange.

I don't street race anymore but I would've loved to see that.

 

Back in my street racing days I had a crazy idea- an 11-second Taxi. I still think it would've worked.

 

It was in Philly so I'd venture to guess that was probably a joyriding video of the Mayor's kid in a stolen cop car!

 

OR maybe a Subaru Brat with a WRX or Syclone engine/drivetrain.

Long time lurker (and fchat fan) here. Still saving for first f-car (give me a year or so, cursed f430 markup ).

Odd for this to be my first post, but I've actually gotten into 2 full on drag races with a police car. You could say I enjoy skirting the line with authority (I actually have a completely clean driving record too, call it risk management and an ability to talk my way out of trouble).

I'll leave out specific department/location because I don't want to get anybody in hot water (particularly cool cops), but one recently in of all places right here in orange county. Unfreaking believable, the guy kept jumping me light to light and then letting off and pacing me. Finally the 3rd time I went for it to up to 10 over and he did a fly-by and kept going. I will say this... those cruisers are faster than I recall (I only had maybe 3-4 carlengths to 60 in a slightly modified s2000 on him... then again a s2000 not the best drag racing platform).

The other incident was back east when I was driving a highly modified viper. Same sort of scenario except at the 2nd light the cop yelled out the window: "When that light turns green, I want to see it run". He gave me thumbs up after a thoroughly crazy launch up to 50 or so in a 45. Ahh my days of misspent youth!

Here I figured this only happened in the backwoods of my origin :-D

Hey guys you can race local SDPD and CHP every Friday night (or so) at QUALCOMM Stadium via Race Legal.

Its great we usually take out the Ferrari and Lambo, FYI: they always take off on the 3rd yellow. I hope some of you look into it. It’s legal, safe and fun. And there is nothing in the world like putting the looser in his place. Don’t forget your helmets because they are required to race.
