A fellow F-chat member had put a deposit down on my 355 three months ago. He was having a new house built and didn't want to pull his credit until after he closed on the house.

He closed a few weeks ago and then his credit union wouldn't fund the Ferrari. So he's had to back out. He's a nice guy and I was really looking forward to my 355 going to a good home. He was planning to drive it daily because he lives in Florida.

His deposit was non-refundable, so I have lowered the price of my car. http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=1887

I hope that the car goes to someone who will drive it much more than I've been able to. It's such a beautiful car but i just don't have the room for it. Contact me and I'll make someone a great deal.

I was wondering what happened to it Bill. Just think, if enuff Buyers with Non-Refundable Deposits keep backing out, you will have a FREE 355 :D

Thats too bad. Non refundable, wow?? I think there are just too many 355's out there to leave a non refundable deposit IMO. If somebody buys the one I was looking at, oh well there are more out there!

    Nice car BTW !

Is that the lowered price, or do I need to call to get the FChat Special?

I discussed ur car with u both times u offered it for sale on EBay - recognize my handle? :)

Why is it there are so many black 1995 GTB's for sale? I want a red one. I remember yours because the valve guides and headers were repaired, so it is a particularly nice car.

I am sorry about ur sale falling thru. Damm, u got me reconsidering my insistence on red.

Damn, competition! a red GTB is my first choice too...I found that cruising Ebay and elsewhere there's a ton of spyders around, not so many GTB's.

I'm sorry, I don't recall speaking to you. I've got a 9 month old baby, so sleeping washes my memory away. :)

Yes, the valve guides were done by a Ferrari dealer. ($19,000 fix) And yes, the headers were fixed.

The price is listed in the ad. Offers are of course welcome---from people who are serious buyers. :) Tire kickers beware---it's huntin' season in Georgia!

That black Spyder is menacing looking. I love it! For some reason, the 355's look like they are up to no good when painted in Nero. :D

If I were to keep the 355 I would have put some black wheels with polished lips to make my car even more menacing.

This was a special situation. I would not normally hold the car for 3-months, but this was a fellow F-chatter who really wanted the car but needed a couple of months so he could close on a new house.

There may be many 355's for-sale, but this guy must have felt the car was right for him. First of all, there are very few black/black 355's. He flew into Atlanta to check it out and liked the price, plus the car has had the valve guides fixed by Ferrari, repaired manifolds, recent 30K, new tires, and ALL of the records since the car was brand new.

Since the car was priced about $10-$15k less than a dealer, but had all the stuff fixed, he wanted the car. I felt like he was the right buyer and since he was willing to put up some cash, I didn't mind letting the car sit for a couple of months. (I drove it occasionally to let it warm up to operating temp)

Hope that explains it. The guy is a real nice person and I believe he had good intentions or I wouldn't have offered to hold the car for 3 months. And if he wanted a red Ferrari he could have just waited until he was ready. There are plenty of red 355's for-sale.

Au contraire, my friend. Try to find a 1995 red/tan or red/black that has the same maintenance as yours. Scarce, I tell ya!

Goth - ur car is gorgeous. Black, hmm. I got to think about this.

I had a similar situation happen. Talked to a guy for over 2 months, he got me down on price and ended up not buying it... Long story, and very aggravating! I feel your pain! Nice car, should have no problem selling it...

Holy COW - I had no idea 355s could be had at this price! Just when I thought I'd "settled down" with my car buying desires, I go and see a thread like this. Crap. Now I'm screwed!

I think your car is priced about what the market is bringing for a car without a service and no documented valve guides repair.

The valve guide issue is a big-dollar fix. But since your car has over 20,000 miles you probably won't have an issue. On the other hand, my car didn't show a valve guide problem until 22,000 miles. The repair, with a 30k service, was about $19,000. But once its done, its done. No worries.

Good luck with the sale, I'm sure you won't have a problem at that price.

That's odd since Ferrari made more berlinettas than spiders. Berlinettas: 4,915; Spiders: 3,714.

    That's gorgeous...! I love an all-black car...!

Sorry about the loss on your sale. I actually have a picture of that car on my desk at work. If I had the cash I would buy it in a day (assuming thats how long PPIs and the like take).

Oh well I guess I will have to dream about having a black on black 355 with a six speed.
