What is a 348 GTS!

Yes Vern, mine on the rear says 348challenge. The cover on the radio is 348tb and the plate on the right door frame is serie challenge 348 tb. The warranty card says 348 TB USA MY 94.

Interestingly the 94 owners manual lists SAE net hp at 310 not 312. I always thought it was 312? The challenge cars were allowed to advance the timing and had different fuel pumps, so they may have closer to 320hp. A whoping 3% more than stock US model.

There were only 60 tb/ts imported to the US in 94 (32 tb/ 13ts challenge's and 15 SS's), and 100 SS's in 93 so it's likely Ferrari did not make a seperate brochure for the US.

I don't think Ferrari ever did a brochure for any specfic country. Altho there is a brochure for the 348SS which was produced by FNA and it states the hp to be 312, my owners manual on my SS also said 310(?). Over the years I have wondered if they even know the exact hp of any of their cars. One of the reasons there were only 60 coupe style cars imported was because the spider was selling much better, probably becuase they hadn't had a 2 seat ragtop for quite awhile(and the ecomony sucked at that time). The #s kind of state that with 1146 spiders to 440 for the other 2 models. I would still describe those 60 cars as TB and TSs because they have all the updates to the model that the Euro cars have except the newer manifold, ie; painted engine cover & lower trim, revised suspension, revised grill, chrome horse emblems, interior changes, etc. regards, Vern
