Do 348 owners aspire to have a 355?

  1. Yes - I wish I had a 355 instead of a 348

  2. No - Not that interested in a 355, I'm happy with my 348.

  3. I don't care...I have a 360

I love my 348 spider but I do want a 355. In addition - cannot imagine not having the 348.

Mind you I started at wanting a 308 but looking at 328's as they are "better", then drove a 348 after a 328 and the jump IMHO from 328 to 348 was totally worth it.

Got to drive my dream 355 (GTS rosso/black 6-speed) in anger on the track at Siracusa in Sicily for several laps and I really do love the 355 as well.

But my 348 is so 'me' I gotta keep it.

    Cheers
    Kev

interior is tighter on a good 355, a little more hp , but i love my 348 with the unmistakable strakes. my next step would be a 360 .

I love the 348 and the 355 but the 348's a lot of bang for the buck being somewhat similar to the 355. I think the next buy is a 360 or 550. The thing I like about the 550 is that it's a little more subtle and less obvious than many Ferrari's but still a Ferrari with a nice 12 to boot. Although I've never driven one, probably more comfortabe and user friendly of a cruiser on long trips.
To tell you the truth the next Ferrari might just be a 246 Dino, one of the most beautiful Ferrari's ever IMO. I had one once many years ago and bought it for $16,000, I regret to this day I ever sold it.
Chaa, Dude looks like that front plate in your picture says "Brute"?
Thanks BTW for all the cool info you provide us with from time to time. Between you PAP, Plugzit and Rifle were covered. Chaa, Inside, secretly, I think you consider yourself to be one of the Brothers.

Sure, bang for the buck is better on a 348, but the real difference is the raw simplicity of the 348. I was shopping 355gtb's then started comparing the 348/355 mechanicals. I didn't want airbags, power steering, extra unneeded gismos. The six speed is over rated, just another shift to be made, the 5 speed has a good spread between ratios. F1 tranny is for...well you know. Then comparing engines, I figured the tried and true 4 valve was the way to go, since there are extra moving parts and wear issues with the 5 valve. The horsepower difference can be addressed with a few simple hotrod technologies applied. I do however like the 355 front/rear bumpers and side rockers. So, I am changing my 348 to that look. Upgraded to factory 360 wheels. Really makes the car look as if it was born with those wheels. They are the lightest wheel out there for a great price. However the rear wheels must me machined to get the correct offset. I can do that for you. Otherwise they stick out to far in the rear. Leaving the side cheese graders and rear tail panel stock ala testa....

Unfortunatly as he owns a 355 spider... we think of him more like a big sister.

Currently the premium for Canadian spec 355s is too high, so reaching for a 360 seems a better alternative. In 2010 however the first 355's should be eligible for import under our 15 year old exemption, bringing our prices in line with the US.

Hey now.......I too have a F355 spider too!!! It is ready to deliver a whooping at a moments notice ;) So it wouldn't be too complimentary to get whooped by what you deemed a "sister" ;) But I guess black is more of a "manly" color .....so the term "sister" may not apply.....LOL :D

My man chaa!!!! Stick together!!! Long Live the 355!!!

It was a choice between a RHD 348 or a LHD 355 F1. I had to go with the 355 hands down. Since my old 308 was left hand drive I had no trouble with it. I actually had difficulty driving my RHD Testarossa until I got used to it.

I love both cars. With that said, I don't see getting rid of my 348 for a 355.

Yeah you may be right!! Since we all know they used a 348 car to start with ;) Then the factory fixed everything wrong and ugly about it and "presto"!!! :D The net result a far superior and better looking car :D :D

Totally agree. My 348 is nice, but it simply does not do a whole lot for me Vs driving a 308. I REALLY miss the windshield view of the slanted fender walls of the 308.

Funny thing is though is that i realy do miss my 328. I kept my 328 along with my 355 spider for 7 months and i was always stumped as to which one i was going to drive. Great lines:)
Very sad day when i had to let it go:(
