My recently acquired 2000 550 is missing the Books and pouch. I am also in need of duplicate remotes. I only have one. Anyone know of sources for these items? Thanks, Bill

Unless you have the codes to the car...you will end up getting all new stuff to get the remotes to work. You have to get remotes that are programmed to the car.....it will cost you big bucks.....ask the dealer that Sold me mine...it cost them. Hopefully you have the codes...or the original dealer that sold the car has them. Some dealers are now keeping the numbers in a log in the folder when they sell the car originally.

From experience with my 456M GT, don't let
your only key-remote, or wireless control, get
    moist, let alone wet.

My Ferrari came with one red master and two
black slaves. When I was down to one
remaining, which was the red master, I
quickly ordered a new set from Ferrari
of Ontario, and the set arrived from Maranello
    a month later.

I was a little nervous in the interim, knowing
that if something happened to the master,
I was then incapable of starting my car.

    I think the modern-day expression is S.O.L.,
though an S.O.S. would have gone out to
the dealer to come get the 456M GT and tow
it back across the border to Toronto and
    program the new set.

By the way, the new set cost over $ 2,500.

^^ What he said. The red remote is unbelievably important. Don't carry it with you. Use it occasionally to ensure the battery is still fresh.

Have a look on ebay for the manual and books. The remotes must be ordered from the dealer. I had to do this on my 1st 550 as the remote that came with(only 1) had been slightly cracked but still works. This bothered me so I went to the dealership thinking it would not be a big deal(pretty stupid of me)

Net, net, ordered 2 more fobs from the factory at a cost of $300 per remote. You must have your registration and DL with you to do this. Then when the remotes show up the dealership will program them and you can throw out your old one..

As we all say on the this board---all keys, remotes, and books are a must. It is expensive and frustrating to hunt for them.

Also order an extra key as this will need to be cut by the dealer also..

I have 2 black remotes for my 550. You're telling me that it originally came with 3? A red and 2 black ones? If that's the case, I probably need to make a trip to the dealer to get a red one.

Yes, it should have a red one.

My first 550 only came with the 2 black ones also. I made sure when I bought this one that it had everything.

Well, now that you've all given me an attack....

After checking with two of my sources, I'm ordering the 3 remotes and brain for $500 or so. Apparently the red remote issue used to be a huge deal... IE: a $5k issue. Not anymore, thank goodness.

Long story short and all that I PM'ed him is that the dealer that sold me me car is trying to make it right.

I don't have any "connections" in getting these. Sorry! :D

Following on from this can anyone clarify whether the 2000 or 1997 550 document sets came in the pouch with the torch such as Ebay 270064350960 or in something else - thanks

There are no document sets or torch with that eBay auction, just the pouch
    and it is a pouch for a 360 not a 550.
