When I get my XOST, I will post some. There is a brilliant 348 sound clip thread here. 2 recent ones with XOST. Sound great. You better not listen to them but, because it will be enough to convert you and you would sell your unwanted 355 and step into a 348 and into the 348 Brotherhood with open arms. We forgive our 355 traitor cousins.
I removed the lower muffler to repair the clutch and after the repair left it off to see how it would sound. It sounds as good as the tubi I had before, and just a bit quieter in fact so I can still talk on my bluetooth while running through the gears. I had a local muffler shop fabricate the exhaust pipe from the top muffler to the factory tips for $150.00. Now I have a very aggressive sound like the Tubi but a few decibles quieter which is much needed in a spider. Plus I shaved 50 or so pounds off the car as well..... and they say every 100 lbs lost knocks 0.1 seconds off your 0-62 time, so now my Trailer Trash Tubi makes me even quicker.
When I did my clutch, I did the same thing. Started the car with the bottom section removed. Sounded cool. I was going to get pipes fitted like you did, but decided to remove the complete muffler sections and just had cats and pipes. The car responded quicker higher in the rev range and sounded FANTASTIC at full noise. I have since put it all back together. I have an XOST coming next week. Should have gone the cheap pipe way again.
Mine...Tubi plus Hyperflows. Cost effective? Compared to what? I never for one second think I spent too much money for this noise and I am smog legal in Kalifornia to boot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gpzbuIfpJk Cheers Kevin
