You are having a hard time passing on that car, are you?? :D

Conventional wisdom is they are about 300# lighter than a US wet sump steel body, based upon glass panels and the lighter bumpers, as well as the missing door crash bar beams......

Dr. Barry (308GTB) would know...a sweet Colorado 512 carbed Boxer just hit the market...get that and keep your other car.....THAT will get you more performance!

I'll PM you the phone number and you can check it out!

Well, I agree with Bubba....about 300 pounds lighter than a US steel body wet sump GTB. Now, how much does that steel GTB weigh?

The factory says a 1978 US version GTB was 3085 pounds.

The 1976 brochure lists the Euro GTB at 1090 kg (2398 pounds) - 1320 kg (2904 pounds) weighed with fuel.

One of these days I should weigh my car.

My November 1976 UK spec (rhd) 308GTB glass fibre bodied dry sumped car original handbook says 1265kg, 2788lbs dry weight.

I have a CAR and DRIVER magazine reprint from March 1977, presumably a US spec car, at 3110lbs curb weight. I would guess this is wet sump as power is 240bhp SAE.

I also have an original factory sales brochure which states 255bhp and 2403lbs or 1090kg for the Euro spec car and 3110lbs curb weight for a US spec car. The Euro car has a fuel capacity of 17.6 imperial gallons and the US car 18.5 US gallons.

    Take your pick!

I hope this helps rather than confuses. I guess that, like the colour of the wiring, the weight depends on which day of the week the car was built.

As an FYI: Euro 1985 308GTS QV wet sump with USA door braces, Euro bumpers, all fluids, 1/4 tank of gas BUT car is modded/lightened (alu radiator, alu shocks, lighter/better brake package, Odyssey PC680 battery...) weighs 2701 without driver.

Probably lost another 20 lbs due to lighter flywheel/clutch and Electromotive ignition but added back that weight due to dual-element rear wing package... have not weighted her since those mods.
