LOL calm down..... it was all a joke about the NSX ok, so I need to brush up on my speed reading...LOL I too (like alot of others here) really love their 355's. I am currently hunting down some used factory manifolds so I can jig them up and make myself some F1 style headers and exhaust. I used to make exhausts for turbo p-cars and the like for years. I am sure you are a good guy, there is no animosity here. Its always good to see people make their car the most it could be So just post some pics so we can hassle you some more !!!
Mmm so you show us a dyno sheet with the figure of 363 BHP NOT at the wheels as you claimed but at the crank, so there has been no back up at all dont lie So now i am waiting to see the Dyno sheet with 390 BHP at the wheels......or at the crank, i am not fussy It was you dude who asked the question in summer about chipping a 355 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117387 then the next thing ya know you have some special chip from Italy?? Huh??!!! Oh and along with the xpipe and special valve guides that will amount up to 390RWHP. Na mate i have no problem with you what so ever and i realy dont care much about dyno results that much. Its just that when you made big.....no HUGE!! claims on this 355 forum of monster HP i think alot of us stood up and paid attention ever though most of us knew you were talkin BS. thats all, no biggy then
No dude i feel very let down by my daily rides...........your right LOL!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was somewhat involved in a discussion on another thread about those photos of the helo's 'curved blades'. I didn't understand what method of photography would produce pictures like that until someone described certain kinds of cameras that move a slit very quickly across the film instead of opening a hole. Because the blades are spinning quickly and the rest of the airframe is relatively still, when the slit exposes the blades to the film they appear to be curved while the rest of the helo is not distorted.
Good info! I understand now, I made a few weird copys at work by following the scanner light with my hand......................... Ok, it was really slow that day .
Someone else was going to get theri car tested on that very same dyno so we could see what the fudge factor was. That way we were spposed to be able to triangulate 355's engine output in order to relate it to other dyno charts. I am still skeptical about the whole net realizeable Hp gain for a 355. I am certainly not going to spend $10K just to get another 10 Hp at the upper end of the RPM range. In fact, I might have a hard time spending that on 20-30 Hp increases. Hell, my 996 TT gains 165Hp for that kind of investment. Hmm, I wonder what Novitech wants for a 550 Hp 355...
Dude, I fear that this thread is dead. No one seems to care about following up, so I have just about lost interest myself. Um, my Turbo can spank ur 355 on any day. And after its upgrade it will spank any production Ferrari short of an Enzo or maybe the 599. Now that's childish!
I know I had a TT But the point was to add a little HP to an already very dynamic and fun car. This was not about what can spank what, as we have seen more than enough of those threads..... though my 355 seems to handle a little better than my TT.......
Me thinks this thread has died a sorry death. A shame really, as claims were made and NOT substantiated. It wouldn't matter except for the fact that a SPONSOR was indirectly, if not directly, responsible for those claims. Certainly guilt by association... Seems a bad business tactic IMHO. O well. If I had money to spend on my cars, which I don't, it would NOT be going to Harmony
That's probably a bit harsh. When I get to this point, I will call them and get a straight scoop. Anyone ought to be able to warm up this already hot ride. The question is how much money one has to spend for this warm up and what are my returns if not claimed HP? Again, spending $10K for a bunch of plumbing that nets me only a few ponies is not smart. If I get a better exhaust note, throttle response, fuel economy D!), or other aesthetics, this might affect the overall. As for the TT, I was just goofing on the thread. I figure to explore the performance envelope of my car now while I wait for that perfect 355 opportunity. After going to the LA Car Show this week, there are a lot of nice and expensive cars with 500HP or stunning performance claims. All of these come at some serious cash outlay. So, I wonder what I can get with a small investment in my car?
You know all this talk about the dyno at Harmonys and no one including mysel as yet has watched the harmony video to veryfy that the dyno is indeed running correctly. Have a look at this Harmony video with a 360 on the rollers. Standard the 360 is pushing out 316WR BHP on there rollers, this sounds about right for a standard 360 which usualy runs at between 315-330. (Remember my own 355 is running at 328RW BHP ) then the video shows that after the Harmony manifolds are fitted the 360 then has 333RW BHP on the same rollers, so that is a gain of 17BHP extra. So this video from Harmony shows there dyno to be correct So so much for the dyno reading a little high. All said and done it was the huge figures of 363+ BHP that got all this thread started. Not that i think anyone cares now. But i do wish one of us would have checked the said Dyno video first, this would have rulled out the high reading dyno theory months ago. Heres the Harmony Video, click MEDIA. http://www.harmonyautosport.com/
We now use a differnt dyno center closer to us. The 360 was on a dynojet, the 355 was on a mustang dyno.
So would you comfirm that your new dyno reads very high compared to your old unit or not? And how did you figure out an inrcease to 363+RW BHP. Now this thread has calmed down some what, can we hear from your selfs
Mustang Dynos ALWAYS read higher than Dynojet, anyone can tell you that. The problem with dyno tests is that it doesn't matter what the dyno reads. Turbo magazine dyno'd a stock 350z on 6 different dyno brands they ranged from 230rwhp to 270rwhp. What matters is the BEFORE and AFTER dyno. If this car made 340rwhp on the dyno before and then 363rwhp with mods, that's perfectly believable. Just like their 360 claim, it's something I can easily believe. By the way Harmony has always been honest with me, I truly don't think they'd lie to make a sale, in fact I think they'd be rather be honest and lose a potential sale. For what it's worth and for me to say that about a competitor means alot.
Firstly no not every one can tell me that about Mustang dynos, becourse maybe they read so bad that not many use the bloody things Also i find it strange that when one has a perfectly acurate dyno, why would you suddenly swap it for a dyno thats clearly out by a mile. Like i said the original dyno was spot on from what i know and have seen of 360s on a set of rollers. Its like having a rifel that is true, then ya swap it for one that could not hit a barn at 100 meters let alon 1000 yards out But hey what do i know about a god damed thing
Mustang Dynos are used often in the states, I'm not trying to argue with you about it I'm just saying it's a widely known fact that they read higher than other dynos. They are very popular in the states, even more popular than Dynojet in some parts of the country. I wasn't trying to be offensive about it sorry if my post came across that way, I highly respect you as a member and 355 owner, plus without you who would remind the 348 owners that they're slower! Hope you don't take what I said the wrong way again, just wanted to say numerous articles and back to back tests have showed Mustang dynos read higher. Regards, Kevin
