I have not taken my 360 Spider in the rain yet. Is there anything I should watch out for? My biggest concern is the honeycomb openings on the border of the engine plexy cover.

    Your input is appreciated.

From what I hear your 360 spider has a very good chance of melting. Cause most driver/owners say there cars have never seen rain. Proceed with caution.

Car did not melt, though engine plexy cover was fogged. 30% chance of rain in Los Angeles resulted in downpour. Car was outside in the rain for at least 1 hour. Drove it home from dinner and no apparent problems.

It's a car, they are ok to drive in the rain. Drive it and get over it, I swear they don't melt.

I love driving my 360 in the rain. In fact, I drove it tonight through a down pour in town and on the freeway. It does great. In town, it was flooded and the car was cutting through the water and throwing up a big wave as I drove along :) It must have gotten some water up around the cats doing this, because the engine compartment fogged up for about a mile. But it's so hot back there, the fog goes away pretty quickly.

Anyway, don't worry about it.. my 360 does as well in the rain as my SUV! :) Except no seat heat... :)

Are you serious? What do you think an F car is for?

I put 32000 on my 360 spider, thousands it the rain. Didn't see any signs of melting, mold or decay.

It's just the 4 hour clean up after driving in the rain that I hate.

I wash my 360 every 2 weeks or so, and this even though I drive it daily.

I only wash it when it has become embarassingly filthy . . .

Mate, it's a car, a bit of water isn't going to hurt it - it's not much different to getting it wet when you wash it! Mine's been out in the rain loads, it really isn't a problem.

    Ray[/QUOTE]

Yup! Just the general heat in the engine compartment will cause the fogging. Happens everytime after washing.
Redracer - you have nothing to worry about.

    Maybe Ferrari sells different 360 Spiders up here in the rainy NW because I put a lot of miles on mine in the rain with no problems... ;-}

    Actually I have.

It's the long cleanup as has been stated that gets to me.

Come on guys....tell him what he needs to hear:

The Ferrari Factory test all their cars, spiders included, by dumping hundreds & thousands of gallons of water in a test-station to ensure it's right & tight.

I can't believe some guys tookthe melting joke seriously! :)

    Drive it....:)

I went to the factory one year in December when there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground and the road testing continued. Modena is about as north as Montreal and is wet and cold. If you have a car that was built in the fall, winter or spring, it's likely that it saw rain or snow before it ever got on the boat!

Ever notice those cool Ferrari F1 Team jackets? They have hoods ;)

OK, I took my 360 out in a light rain and it didn't melt and the paint didn't run but I sure agree with the comment about the cleanup! I have never had a car that gets as dirty as quickly as the 360 (at least on the back end).

OMG....you actually took your car out in the rain????? Deduct at least $10k from the selling price; now it's a story car. May as well be a salvaged-title! ;) ;) ;)

I recently went on a group drive with a friend, when it started to drizzle he got all wiggy about it. His BMW M3 had NEVER been in the rain since the day he got it. To mess with him I told him that technically it was just a bit of condensation and heavy fog....then I conceded to light-drizzle. I told him as long as he doesn't use his windshield wipers the car technically wasn't driven in rain. So the turkey keeps driving w/o using his wipers as it's pouring on us. Hilarious!!!! He finally gave in to curiosity when I convinced him (in the other direction) that using a feature he's not used before (the windshield wipers) would be a cool thing to do. So he finally turned them on and within a minute it stopped raining. :)

If your car is a spider, I would suggest keeping the top up.
