Wow! I'm not into the ornate gilding, but I do love the dome. Wish there was a pic with the fiber lighting on.

If there was ever to be a digital theater installed at Hearst's Castle, it would look like Steve Jenkins room. That is a very impressive work of imagination put to reality.

That home is for sale. Everything you see in it is thus staged, that is, the Gullwing was hired for the photo/video/promotion, as well as every other furniture, picture, etc.

Anyone ever use Cardas Audio cables? He is a friend of mine. Never heard a critique of his stuff, good or bad.

Cardas makes some wonderful stuff- as well as first class connectors. Cable pricing has gone thru the roof, and claims about the science of cables are often questionable. Pricewise, what was once considered ridiculous by almost anyone's standards is now considered 'reasonable.' Cables act almost like 'filters' and require matching with the rest of the system, in the sense that a particular cable may sound better in a particular set up, given its weaknesses and strengths. There is a school which says all cable sounds the same, and that electrically, it shouldn't make any difference, but, back when I was willing to take the time and effort to experiment, I spent many long weekends comparing and changing out cables in a couple of systems. There were cables that had a synergistic relationship with the rest of the equipment. The 'hot' cable for the last several years is the Nordhost 'Valhalla.' The price is staggering. See, eg, http://rav.stores.yahoo.net/norvalin.html. Cardas stuff ain't cheap either, but it's not stratospheric, by any means. http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/cardas_golden_reference_cables.htm

I am currently using Cardas Reference cable in my analog system, from tonearm leads, through interconnects, through speaker cables and jumpers.

George Cardas is very highly regarded in the industry, and his products are well respected in the audio marketplace.
