You don`t have a choice. Canadian Tire does the inspections for the RIV.

Whoa - stop the presses, we have a BB512i local owner on the board?! good find Salar!

tsang85 - CONGRATS, and when? Now that's a real man's Ferrari. I would of liked to have picked one up before the 348 - but not quite so practical in the city, and tough to find good ones. They've sure gone up in price since then, along with so many other older Fcars :(

Did you buy her local or import it yourself? would love to see pics if you're willing to share!

I am selling my F430 to make space for my newly arrived 9000 mile 83 BB512i. It was the doctor's from Indianapolis. Very nice fellow, had the car 16 years.

$27,000+ was just spent on full service front to back prior to arrival at my place. Great Car!

Isn't that called "trading down"? - Or do you feel that the BB512i handles better than the F430 or that it will hold its value better/appreciate in value?

Or just simply because older models are better / more exotic looking?

Walter, if you consider that "trading down" then you may not fully understand classic Ferrari's. Which would surprise me because you seem to be a classic car guy :). The 512 in it's day was superior to what the 430 would be in terms of model line. In other words the 430 back then would only have been like a 308/328 (NOT that there is anything wrong with that)

I personally consider it to have a supercar status like that of the 288GTO and F40 (Although not as expensive nor powerful). The 512 is unreal and I would take a perfect example over an 430 anyday. The 512 is extrememly underated.

    Just my .02

Not trading down really. Just different.

I am somewhat practical, and detest depreciating assets, which is probably anither reason I have decided to sell the F430.

I have an F40 that I like better than my F430. The F430 I drive to and from work, but since it snows here 6 months of the year I have decided to put that driving time on my Cayenne twin turbo, and drive all the Ferraris on Sunny days!

    Thanks for your input, V.

From the perspective of pricing, I gather that it is a step down, at least at the present. In all other respects, you must of be course right, as you are much better informed than me.

Agewise, I'm definitely more of a classic guy than you....:)

    :D No comment there.

But yes, pricewise it is a "trade down" I guess. But again they are way underated. On another note I used to work for a guy who sold a Boxer in the Ferrari boom of the 80's for $425,000.00 CDN! Yes, here in Toronto.

Not really a good investment for the guy who purchased it in the 80's....:(

My Son-in law #1 (the Decaf-King) had a slot for an F430 a couple of years ago. At that time he also had a DB7. Then my daughter hitched up with him and talked him into selling both the DB7 and the F430 slot...she is very "practical-minded". He now drives a Cayenne S Turbo...

Hello everyone, so you can import almost any Ferrari into Canada, but you cannot import a Lambo? Is there a way that I'm not aware of ?

Post office box in one of the southern states, will get you a plated car that you can drive over the border with little or no hassle. (Get an american "who is visiting a friend, or is spending a day in Niagara" to drive it over the border for you). j/k....but...there are ways to do it.
