No, but it´s not hard to find beautiful girls here Member grold (Kevin) was here last month, he has some good pics of local girls. First to live and work in a diferent place. Second and most important, job/investments opportunities. Rio is not good for Engineers.
Well I'm in the boring midwest. I grew up in Cleveland but came to Cincinnati for college. I stayed here because of *sigh* a girl, who then ended up moving to Georgia!! But in the meantime, I have opened up and successfully grown a business. At present, I'm in the process of selling the business and possibly getting back together with the girl I've considered moving many times, but with the biz here it really is impractical. As soon as the transaction is finito and the new owners are installed, I'm going to let some options open up. First and foremost is to be back with the girl, second would be a very drastic move across the pond to England where I have family on my father's side, in Manchester. Anyways, I got wind that Aston Martin was hiring and I don't think Newport-Pagnell would be such a bad place Cheers, Aaron '82 GTSi '83 400iA
I was so desperate to get *out* of the Boston area that I goofed, and moved to one of the few areas that's even worse. When I was in the Boston area, I lived in an "integrated" community: only 98% white. Boston is tolerable for those who are just like everyone else there. Don't try to be different. Like owning a Ferrari or something. But DC metro is no picnic either. Corrupt local governments, massive taxes, massive incompetence being the "standard". (You find that in Boston, too, but you have to look to see it. They don't bother to hide it in DC.) The world has changed. "Egalitarianism" now means hiding out in the middle of the herd. Consumers are sheep to be flocked. Consumer economics is just people picking each others' pockets for the same tired dollar bill. (We have a "sales tax" instead of a VAT, because how could you have a "value added tax" without anyone adding value?) Read Asimov's "Caves of Steel" to get a feel for life in modern cities. The term "overcompensated inferiority complex" comes to mind in many cities today.
Well I was born in New Haven, Connecticut and then my parents moved to Ohio. About 6 months ago my mom got a job in Newton, MA and unfortunately the schools were better here so I had to come along as well. I left behind lots of friends, my dad my stepmom, and my baby brother in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Now I'm just trying to make friends and find my place, but so far no luck
Depends, not all, but most of them have some accent. City of God is a movie about a "favela" a poor and extremely violent neighbourhood/ region of Rio. It's not the reality of mid/high class living in Brazil.
Been in Colorado since '77... it would be hard to move, but as the years go by and I ski less, I'm starting to think about a warmer place. Here's my back yard: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Newton eh? Big $$ 'hood' there. I think there is a Ferrari shop somewhere right around there called Boston Sports Cars. Go check it out, loiter around, and make those guys your pals!!! It'll sure help when you get your first F-car!! P.S. Chagrin Falls is pretty nice too. I grew up on the west side of Cleveland, in the happy Irish ghetto of West Park Cheers, Aaron '82 GTSi '83 400iA
Lived here all my life and love the mountains. I like the size of Denver and what they have to offer. The only thing that I wish it was closer to was the beach
I was born and raised in Montreal, and lived there up until about 8 years ago. I moved to Toronto for a job, and stayed there for about 1 1/2 years. While in Toronto, I met a woman who is currently my wife. Things got serious and I decided to move to Windsor to be closer to her, and applied for a Fiancee VISA. I was in Windsor for about 7 months until I got my VISA, and then moved to Michigan. I never imagined I'd be living in the USA, but here I am, and because of my wife. My ideal setup would be to have a summer house in Montreal, and have another residence somewhere south, like Arizona or Florida, or better yet - Hawaii!
I was born and grew up here. Nothing too spectacular, but everyone here seems to know my family. I had a middle school teacher who was my dad's high school english teacher(I know, she's was a little on the prune side). Between the family hardware store in the 60's that was on Bandera and Poss Rd area, to the Liquor Store, and the current home/commercial water purification/filtration business, we've been here. In fact, the Chief of the PD I'm a reservist at was a frequent customer of the HW Store. The man who administered my polygraph was also...lol...Just funny that when I introduce myself, they kind of cock their heads like a dog hearing a high pitch noise when I say my last name. I guess that's why I stayed. Hell, my Grandpa even use to play cat and mouse with a friend of his who was a motorcycle cop back in the day. There was a newspaper article on it, lol. I think it would be kind of cool for my kids to go to school where I went, I dunno.
Sweet. Brazil is a really nice place to have a vacation and just chill out. The views are just amazing. I was there summer of 2005 and I really enjoyed it. I think were going back there in Spring or Summer of 2007.
Another. I love the desert. I could post nice pictures all day long from out here. Then we have the lost gold mines, and gold in general. So much history in this area. I love the Western lifestyle too. It's great. BTW, I took these pictures. Please don't pass them around anywhere. They remain on this thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, Chatfield reservior.......one word.... quality.hahaha You got a beach over by you, I think it goes by the name of Hanging Lake On a side note, djui5 I really like the first picture!
I live in the upstate NY (area). It's not a bad area, but New York State lacks the common sense that the job loss and depress areas are due to high taxes, the worst politics I've ever seen (the state is backing over backwards to open Indian casinos in non-Indian casino by giving them "reservation land" in key areas; they are proposing to build a casion (no taxes, ect.) right on the Buffalo waterfront area; can't close a deal to re-develop anything or bring in new positions). I actually like the cold. The location is nice (you have access to great fishing, skiing, hunting, close access to major cities, Niagara Falls is right over the border). I just wish the politics would wake up. Part of it is upstate NY is being sucked into the wishes of downstate (NYC).
I was born in Connecticut and I have lived in the same town since I was 3 years old. I like the change of seasons but I think I would like living in southern California more.
