Lately I've been renting from these machines and boy, they're sooo convenient!! I've always been pretty good at returning DVDs on time but having this thing right around the corner and being able to rent new releases for $1 a day is sweet. I usually return them the next day and only get charged $1. Anyone use these now instead of going to BB, Netflix or Hollywood video? If not, you should.

I always see the advertisements for these things...Kind of like ATMs, they provide the locations, you pretty much maintain. Haven't seen any in my area though.

I buy 'em, too. Close to 2 dozen in last month. Like an uncle who spoke from experience said before I divorced Lucyfer - "cheaper to keep her."

Is it McDonald's-owned Redbox? Chitloads of 'em in Houston for same price at a buck a day, a definite plus to be able to return to any location. After 25 days, flick's a keeper. Smart.

All the Safeway owned companies (Randall's, Von's, Genuardi's, Tom Thumb, Simon David, Pavilion's, Pic and Shop) should have them around the first of the year. We get ours in three weeks. Neat looking machines and the concept seems quite good......

Interesting. Seen them advertised many times on my insomniac spells, but never actually seen one. I figured they were similar to that land Ponch from Chips was selling.

When we get ours I will try it out and let you know. All I have seen so far is the picture and a voice explanation.

You pay with a CC and it doesnt charge you until you return the DVD. From that time between you get charged $1 or if returned after 15 days or something the DVD is yours for $20 something dollars. Pretty fair I think, for people who return movies on time or want to see movies before they buy them. I can't find myself paying $4.99 for a new release anymore...The machine I get it from is starting to rent video games now.
