How many coupes are they making this year?

A client had asked me about the market and I tolds him I was clueless except for what I have read here. His dealer said they were not making very many cars to keep the prices up, was quoted $25k over sticker($351k car for$375k)and was told the price was going up monthly. Sounds like typical west coast salesmanship(BS)at its best if you ask me.

Has anyone from the board purchased a car yet with first hand market info?

IT is NOT BS..... FACT the production numbers HAVE BEEN cut from 2500 TOTAL all model Lamborghinis to approx 1980 for MY 2007. The LP 640 lost about 1/3 of allocation to the USA.

It is from the a "good" source that I have been told NO more LP 640 cars being delivered to USA from about 2nd week in February till late April, only ones still coming are ones that have been in production and are being completed as we speak.

Amongst the 23 or so USA Dealers it is far believed the cars will reach over 400K by spring, IF you can get one????

I was at the factory two weeks ago. Above the Murcielago production is a huge digital clock which counts the number of Murcielago's that have come off the line since Jan 1st. On December 11th it was 374. I don't know how many were LP640's since at the beginning of 2006 they were still making a few 6.2's

Simon. If you don't mind me asking....how are you specing out your LP..? Incidentally, your article in EVO is always the first page I flip to when it arrives each month. Are you going to continue the column with the LP? Cheers, Andy

    Hi Andy,

The 640 spec is Pearl White, yellow/black leather, yellow callipers, yellow rocker covers, glass engine lid, anthracite/titanium roadster style wheels, carbon interior, branding pack (badges etc). Manual not e-gear. Haven't gone for the ceramics since the uprated brakes on the 05my cars are superb and the pads are cheaper. I know the colour combo sounds odd but it looks fab - saw one at the factory the same.
Yea I hope Evo have it on the fleet - I think they are as I know the orange one will stay until its replaced in March/April by the 640. The Orange Murcie will still make the odd appearance I hope.
Thanks for your comments, I'm glad someone reads it :)

Having owned an 02 Murci, and considering getting an LP...I have always found your column of great interest. I really appreciate the fact that you 'use' the car, instead of treating it like a paperweight. I don't know what you do for a living...but if you had to put bread on the table...your journalistic talents would probably do the trick. Happy Christmas.

Well Roy, my frame is supposed to be set next week/first week of January. They've had a deposit from me since March, I was originallly told a June build, Sept/Oct delivery, but that got pushed back.

My order IS in the Lamborghini computer (Nelson_Order #495xxx Murcielago LP 640 Coupe, config. # 1261xxx).
