I think this is in bad taste as it's clear that people were badly hurt (at the very least) in some of these accidents. However, it does underline (in a particularly graphic manner) why keeping one's 308 fuel lines in good shape is so important.

I do not want to offend anybody, so please do not follow this link only to chew me out later ...

It must be displaying differenly in Firefox. Looks like a white one that was involved in an accident. Must be looking at the wrong car. My commiserations regardless. Did you replace it with another one?

Yes, I bought another 308, then mondial, the 360 F1, the back to a 308 and most recently a 86 328GTS...no more fires.

The older I get the more I enjoy the older cars. I had three transmission failures ( two leaving me stranded with my wife at nice restaurants in Dallas...embarassing)...one leaving Javiers with a parking lot full of transmission fluid. After trading the 360 on a twin turbo, I promised my wife no more Ferraris. Well, that was two years ago but I just could not pass on the 328 I found six weeks ago. I am happier with the 328 than any other F car I have owned. But I really am becoming interested in a 288 or 512.... no more modern cars for me.

Exactly why I have pulled the engine out of my '78 GTS and am changing every single hose, from top to bottom and replacing with the highest quality hoses I can find and the best clamps as well. There is no such thing as being too rich or too safe.

Hi, there has been a few other threads on this but some confusion, let me know what are the "best" hoses and clamps that you are using and sources in NNJ too. I am getting worried and increaslingly cautious...snaping a belt is badd enough to worry about but Fire...that can hurt and leave a mark...we sitt awfully close to that engine and gas tank and the term "firewall" is a misnomer
