Yeah, let's get together tomorrow if it's dry to do tests, Thursday if not, then the 29th for install. Breakfast around 9 ok for Friday? All are welcome! (Parking at my place ordinarily sucks, but streetsweeping is early Friday, so there should be plenty of available street parking after 9)
Duhhhh, no. Like I said, I don't know anything about NOS. Just put in a place for the fitting and a 1/8" through hole. I'll look for the thing on the powercard.
search for www.powercardtuning.com I think it is. Also, look at an NOS site to see the dimensions of their fogger nozzles. Fogger nozzle runs no and fuel in one unit. If you don't use a fogger for one hole then you need two 1/8npt holes to run two spray bars one for NO and one for fuel. You can just run the one hole like you have without the fogger nozzle if you have the ability to run more fuel via some other EFI tricks and then just the one hole for a NO spray bar. O.K.on 29th for TB install and 27th or 28th for weighing/Gteching. Looks like 28th since rain in forcast 27th.
See foggers here: http://www.nitrousdirect.com/nozzles.html http://performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=79713 a quick primer: http://www.holley.com/data/TechService/Technical/NOS%20System%20Types.pdf
Nope it's still down for the count. I did fix the right rear axle, but then after that was taken care of the stupid wires for the crank sensor broke. So now I have to source the pins. ND gave me a link to a site that sells them but the guys is way expensive. I have been looking on line and have been seeing similar pins selling for .03 cents each in boxes of 100. Plus as you know I'm never in a hurry with this car.
Now about the 29th. How about we meet at 8:00am? That way we can feed our faces at Joe's, and then walk back to Plugz' place and start on the swap.
I'm in too. Probably not for breakfast, but later in the AM. Keep ur eye on the prize - NOS is an afterthought. First, the performance increase due to tbs upgrades, then see what comes after that. You guys never mentioned what increase to the fuel delivery systems u are making. Figure that 8 tbs require more stuff than 2, so what about fuel pumps and pressure regulators? I forgot to also ask if ur looking at this as 2 separate banks (traditional Ferrari) or a single V-8, like a Corvette motor, with respect to engine management, etc. Exciting stuff...
I'll be up and ready by 8 for breakfast. I'll warn Eat at Joe's to bring in extra supplies for The Fat One. God, can that guy eat! Engine management will be done by the stock ECU's with mods to come courtesy of No Doubt. Pressure regulators are the stock 355s. 348 Pumps should be adequate (I hope). Yep, NOS will be a long afterthought, especially since the holes are poorly located too close to the water manifolds-oops. If I do go to NOS, it'll probably just be a dry system anyway.
Anyone know if the pump volumes for the 355 and 348 are the same? Also, anyone know if the pressure regulators have the same specs? It would be a pain to find out that the system is starved by inadequate fuel delivery issues due to 348 v. 355 diffs, such as fuel pump, fuel lines (don't laugh, what if they are differently sized?) or regulators. OR injectors (forgot about those). Here's my thought: The new system has 8 355 tbs theoretically capable of 3 times the flow of the 348 tbs at normal aspiration (i.e., no charging). You r going to need to increase the fuel flow on demand well beyond 348 levels, so is the 348 fuel delivery system up to the challenge? My guess is it's close...
Okay so who else is showin up? 1. Plugz 2. Fatboy 3. Ernie 4. Vince, after breakfast Cummon Vince, feed your face with us at Joe's.
Come on by after work. We will still be there. We argue then have wrestling match about how the job should be done then finally do it in a short amount of time.
Shall I spill the beans? Did it work, or not? Heheheheeee. You guys are just gonna have to wait. I know I'm a stinker.

Yes, it runs like a scalded dog! No tune-up yet, haven't even unplugged the brain so it would relearn everything, but man, it goes! I've gotta thank everybody who's contributed on this thread-thoughts, ideas, and encouragement-and especially the guys who stopped by and laid hands on today: Ernie, Fat Billybob, Gothspeed, VinceV, and Dan. A couple of things I learned: The 348 brain won't fire 355 injectors, but will fire the stock ones-that's what's now in the car-thanks, Dan. The throttle position sensor only works in one direction-but if you drill a hole in the top and put it on backwards, it works fine!-thanks Goth! The 355 sensor doesn't work with the 348 brain. What I know, I know. What I don't know, somebody else on this board does!
Have read this through. Good work boys! Very cool. Great pics also. Would have loved to be there to help ya's out with some Aussie talent and Aussie curse words when the going got tough.
Outstanding! Bolt on power, Baby! And you did it with the engine in your car...wow! You know, the 348 Competizione LM models had from 360 hp up to 500 hp on almost stock cams (so one web site claims). Micheloto tuned the A/F chips and went with the 8 tb's (swapping out half-shaft axels with F40 units to the wheels). There's been more than one person claim that the 5 valve design on the 355's is actually less efficient than the 4 valve 348 design, but that the 8 tb's makes up for it. Well, not anymore! Now you and Andy Hills are running pretty close to 348 CLM specs. I bet that you get at least 360 hp out of this motor now. More if you give me the data points for the A/F chip maps. I'm a bit worried that you may be running too lean at wide open throttle if you still have the 348 fuel injectors and 348 fuel pressure regulators, though. You're getting a *lot* more air! Shouldn't be a problem at partial throttle, however.
Did the engine hatch close down fully after the 355 intake was mounted? What's the story on the manifolds that you had fabricated, gaskets, the cut-up coolant hose mounted on the intake pipes, longer manifold bolts, etc.? I.e. how would a fellow 348 Brother go about obtaining all of the above, and how long should it take to upgrade another 348 to CLM specs?!
