Here is a photograph of Mssr. LeLouch adjusting the camera on the MERCEDES that was used for the film. The sound of a ferrari was dubbed over.

There have been numerous studies of time vs. distance from landmark to landmark which show the car never exceeded about 80MPH.

This is probably the most reposted thing here apart from how do I get a factory tour

It should not even be here since its not a Ferrari !

Now thg interesting thread to find is the one after Lelouch released the 'Making of Rendezvous' video last year

The infamous 'Wooden F50' ranks highly up there in the repost stakes also. :D
As does the 'Hello Kitty Testarossa'. :p:p

Just make sure you DO NOT put some music soundtrack over it, leave the sounds of the car as-is.

Not just any Merc my friend. That is the infamous M100 powered 450SEL 6.9

Truly an awesome ride. I owned two of them and I must say there's nothing quite like walking away from most modern performance sedans at a stop light, all while lounging in 4,000lbs of Benz.

Here is what I mean.....(this was my last 6.9) :D

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Damn. I'm so disappointed. I was about to post a thread asking if it really sounds that bad a** behind the wheel of a 275GTB or similar Ferrari. I remember seeing the video for sale in a catalog of automotive books. IIRC it was about 40 bucks. I wonder how buyer will feel knowing they paid that much for a video of a Mercedes sedan hitting maybe 80mph?

Never seen that before and I ashamed to admit that I really liked it. Also wish my Mercedes sedan could replicate such fine noises!

How about a little "rule of thumb" here. If a video or article is from 1976 you can safely assume you will be reposting if you create a new thread. :)

Those were not around in 1976. Rumours were it was an Alpine Renault 110, seemingly also not true then.

Jesus, not only do we have a repost but apparently nobody can take the time to actually READ the previous threads.

    It's a MB 6.9SEL..
