    Jon,
Looks hot. Black hose goes with the air cleaners. The carb screens are a mixed bag. You will find that the carb noise is as loud as the the exhaust from the driver's seat. It sounds good and I tried it for a while. I put the air box back on in the interest of listening to the radio when puddling around town and driving in the dirt. Should have no problems with dirt as long as you stay off dirt roads. Screen keeps rocks and leaves out just fine. Original Dino Fispa air filter was screen door mesh covered with flocking.

Primer on body looks good. Keep it going. Happy New Year.
    John

    Thanks, very helpful.

Note to self: Find a mirror as this area is going to be tough to get to while the hoses and lines are installed...

That truck rod behind your Dino looks like a nice project!

Dino looking good. Great fun seeing photos on a regular basis. Makes me want to find a project Dino to restore!

IMHO think the hose would be best in SS braid. i would find a crimper with different dies, any big hose shop will have options on this. Too much, 4 point deformation on the ferrules. i think these crimps will actually leak.

I concur; an even cylindrical swage would be preferred, and would not look so obvious.

I used to hang out near the Irwindale track (East L.A.) and found several local suppliers. Try the hose man, a very innovative and resourceful shop (the bora has one hose that is an absolute pain because it is a special "step-down" in size"

    Hope this helps.
    Happy holidays

they may look nice... but you'll lose that gorgeous induction noise coming into the cabin from the left hand torpedo tube that feeds the std airbox... (not to mention sucking in hot engine bay air etc)

The clear plastic Cavis hose is notorious for splitting when it gets old or is handled excessively...

The cloth braided hose (from Wurth) is really good stuff. Very user friendly.

What happened? Are the pictures coming back? Anyways I pretty much finished the carbs except for the linkage, I'm waiting for some parts I had cad plated. I got the last part I needed due to the big fire at the chrome shop. Thanks to Tom S. I met him in the parking lot of Home Depot to make the exchange. He was pulling a trailer with a 53 Jag convertible he had just bought. I refurbished the steering rack and moved up the column. The stalk of the turn signal was cracked so I decided to take it all apart. Not a good idea. Two hours scouring my shop for the springs and balls that went flying, the rest of the day to clean and put it back together. The body moved to the paint shop after 5 coats of primer and block sanding. It's next in line after the Hot Rod they are getting ready for a show. My steering wheel isn't bad but I would like to get recovered if anybody has a source?

The guy to use for the steering wheel and upholstery in general is:

    Louie Meza 619-527-4490

Keep this number too for when you do your Miura. He's done many Miura's and is the one that Gary Bobileff uses for his interior restorations (all cars). He does outstanding work. As good as any I've ever seen and he's local.

I just looked at several pages back and a minor sampling shows ALL these historic photos are toast.
    This is a serious shame.

It's more than a shame due to the fact that i was looking forward to being able to use some of the photos for reference when i eventually get to put mine back together! I am going to stick my neck out and ask John if he could possibly do a CD of his remakable journey (lick lick) and send it to me, Any chance John???
And seeing as you have asked John, My car is coming on very slowly due to the fact that the guy doing the bodywork ( whom only seems to work a couple of days a week) had a mountain to climb after discovering that the body was slightly twisted following long ago accident damage that had been seriously bodged. However within the next month he hopes to have her in primer!

One shot of how the old girl looked when i bought her!

In your post #964 image 11, could you tell me exactly which wax-crayon you have used (Manufacturer & supplier if you can) to fill the switch engravings as I have some old switchgear I'd like to restore. I assume you just wipe it over with a cloth at the end and its like new.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Rob says in his "updates" that he will restore the attachments; I'd give him a bit before you reload everything. I mean, look at the time you'll lose on the car ;)

EDIT: yes, it seems the bulk of the pictures are back up in the "More Old Photos" thread. It looks like Rob may be restoring them in batches or by user, as the ones I put up, as well as some others haven't come back yet. Fingers crossed...

    Jon,

Did you just glue the cracked stalk base (it looks that way in one of the pictures) or did you decide to replace it?

    Regards,

    Art S.
