Colin Cantrell recommended Foster's as the best for wheel "truing" repairs, but from their website it looks like they are in the process of closing.

    Is this true?
    Any other recommendations?

I have had my wheels done for both my 355 and BMW at Queen City Autobody. Tim the Wheel Wizard is good as well, over in the Park Place Ltd complex.

I have also heard good things on the local BMW list for this place:

http://www.dependablewheel.com/Index.html? Based on his last name, probably related to the owner's of Foster's Wheel Service in some way.

I've had Steve @ Steve's Custom Cars and Tim @ Wheel Wizard repair wheels. They both do a great job and work out of the same location. Steve is there more than Tim these days. 425-641-0390.

steve is a great guy and so is tim, but they don't do straightening themselves. they're more of the paint, sanding specialists. for the heavy lifting, go to fosters

Just my experience with Wheel Wizard, unfortunately, not a pleasant one.

Basically, had an estimate made by Steve the other day, made an appointment for today to drop the car off. Steve wasn't there but Tim told me that two of the wheels will cost more to repair than what the original quote was. I am sure they are both very nice people, especially Steve, whom was extremly helpful and had provided valuable expert opinions when it comes to wheel repairs.

Anyway, left with the car and will be looking for new wheels now instead.

I went to Dependable Wheel Repair (www.dependablewwheel.com)
today and was surprised to see Corey Youngren working there.

Some of you may remember him from Foster's Wheel Service in Ballard. It closed up a few years ago, but he is working with his uncle (Tim Foster) in Renton.

They do great work, at very reasonable prices!

I have an excellent reference as well for wheel repair/restoration. Skip's Wheel Werks in Beaverton, Oregon. He's well versed in high end wheels...Magnesium competent, decals, splined wheels, multi-piece racing wheels etc. I've personally had 21 wheels done there, and transported another 8 wheels for other Ferrari Owners there...29 wheels in all.

VERY reasonable, pricing includes dismount, remount and balance and NO TAX...also a Tire Rack Installer with the latest Italian made wheel/tire mount/balance equipment. Stands behind his work. (503) 641-8001 [email protected] 4500 SW 96th, Beaverton, OR 97005
