Meant to vote for 355. (Cheese graters are a kitchen gadget, not an elegant design feature.)

I voted for the 355 (I have neither) based on the cleaner looking front end and the classic Ferrari tail light arrangement. Think the side view of the 348 is superior.

348 is sharp and exotic-looking, but the 355 is up there with the 308/328 as Ferrari's handsomest modern sports car.

And they sound incredible, but I guess that doesn't count here...

They are both stunning in exterior designs. To me, 355 is just little bit more refined and somehow the lines just flow a bit smoother. But I'm biased of course :)

355 for me. The 348 just doesnt look as good to my eye. Its beautiful, but nothing compared to the 355.

If I had to pick just one, I hate to say it but, it would be the 355. Just by only a hair though. The two things, looks wise, that put the 355 over the 345 are 1) the 355 rims are way better looking, and 2) I perfer the traditional round tail lights. Other than those two I like the 348. I just love the cheese grates in the doors, and the 348 front bumper is better looking than the 355's. Although I would add another hole to the right side of the 348 bumper, just to balance it out looks wise, and maybe even a duct for cooling the front brakes.

The 355 is clearly a superior design and why would it not be since it is an evolution of the 348? The 348 still represents a better value for the investment, but that is not the question.

Front view: I think the 348 is better from the front. It looks more aggressive and manly. The curves around the front valence softens the look of the 355 here. Other than that the lights and hood look identical to me. Winner: 348

Side view: Both look great in their own ways. Its just different strokes for different folks. Apart from t he strakes, the cars looks identical. Winner: None

Rear view: The 355 looks awesome from the rear - I love the Kamm tail - the way the spoiler is carved upward like a GTO. Also IMO, the two taillamps is a more classic design that connects itself to the other Pininfarina designs of the past. I am not a fan of the strakes in the rear of the 348 - accordingly, the 348SS is the best looking 348 IMO. Winner: 355

Engine: I think the 348 looks better with the red valve covers more visible to the eye. You can see the various components better than in the 355. The black plastic on the 355 is a bit boring to me. Winner: 348

Interior: I like the slim 348 wheel over the chunky airbag equipped 355 wheel. The supplementary dials are better located in the 355 but the a/c controls are better placed in the 348. I like up/down switches in the center console of the defroster. Equal on both aspects. Winner: None

So the 348 clinches it with 2 wins over 1 for the 355 with two non-scoring rounds ;)

Dont you lot get it?? Every time there is a "which ferrari looks better", be it the 355 against the 360/430 or even the 348. The 355 always wins;) Always:D

Since I don't own either of these fine cars, I'd pick the 355 from a styling perspective; mechanically, late build 348s are fantastic cars...

The 355 has universal appeal because there is nothing controversial or offensive in its design.

"That which does not offend, can neither inspire."

You know how I feel Dan! The 355 is one of the best looking things, ever. IMO.

    Hmm... An interesting twist...

P.S. I'm terrible - I had to wait a minute or two just to post at 3:55. I may have a problem...

Ya know, I am really torn on this question...but I tend to agree with this point of view except for some minor alterations....

Front view: I think the 348 is better from the front. It looks more aggressive and manly. The curves around the front valence softens the look of the 355 here. Other than that the lights and hood look identical to me. Winner: 348

Side view: 348 strakes are so unmistakebly Ferrari...If the 348 did not have cheese graters...very, very few people would vote for or own them....... Winner: 348

Rear view: The 355 looks awesome from the rear - I love the Kamm tail - the way the spoiler is carved upward like a GTO. Also IMO, the two taillamps is a more classic design that connects itself to the other Pininfarina designs of the past. The rear of the 348 pales in comparison.... Winner: 355

Engine: I like the way the 355 engine bay looks better...meaner, more technologically advanced... Winner: 355

Interior: I like the slim 348 wheel over the chunky airbag equipped 355 wheel. 355 gauges look so much better then the halloween guages in the 348.... . Winner: 355

Though the 355 gets more votes, 3-2....I put more weight on the first 3 of which 2 go to the 348....I still give the crown to the 348, but just by a hair

In my opinion the 348 looks more exotic and macho than a 355. It has real Italian flair which in the 355 was softened for broader appeal and changing tastes of the nineties. I really dislike the front of the 355 and don't care for the intakes either. The rear is superb however.

One thing that comes in for critiscism on the 348 is the wheels, I love the wheels on the stock 348 they have real charisma and fit beautifully with the rest of the design.

Interior wise, the 348 is more simple and individual. But with all fashion, it is cyclical. At the moment the 355 is favoured by the majority, this may not be the case in 10 years time.

IMHO I think the GTC looks better than any 355 on the planet bar none. With it's polished split rims, racing touches it just completes what is missing from the stock 348.

I mean, doesn't this make you drool? ;)

By the way, can you see the clever evolution of the curves from the 308/328 family in this shot? It's not apparent most of the time but clearly shown here.
