Where can one get a price guide of the true value of a 348? I had a non Ferrari dealer offer me 35k for my 90 348ts with 13k miles. Wante to expore the possibility of a trade on a 355. Said that was the going rate according to F-dealers. Seems low..Anyone agree or disagree?

I think you can get a lot more if you sell privately. With a recent service, I would say about $48-50K should be a good price for the car.

That seems absurdly low for a low mileage '90 TS. Figure they will ask about $49.5K and take $45K. There was an almost identical car here locally in SoCal recently and that was it's experience. Well, it had more like 50K miles so there's that. Again, the maintenance and service record will come into play and don't let the dealer tell you not. If you have recent belt change and a major then it's worth more; if not, then deduct for the cost because that is what the end buyer is going to do.

The reason the offer looks so low is that the dealer has no intention of reselling your trade-in. He's going to trade it to a wholesaler, so there is another layer of profit built in to the equation. IMO, it is a huge discount you are paying in order to dispose of your car quickly and move into an alternative.

The better option is to take a bit more time and contract a consignment dealer to sell the car for you. They will charge you a set fee, like about $2500 on an agreed upon price. Don't let them charge you an overage if they get more than your preset price or you will invite collusion.

I would think you could easily get $45k privately.
How about a dealer consignment where they charge you 5-7% of their selling price (should get about $50k netting you about $47k.
    $35k is waaaayyyyy to low.

The car looks sharp - definitely worth way more than $35K especially for a 13k mile car with service history.

I'd have to agree with the groupthink here, $35K is wholesale. I would think a $45K firm price would sell the car, especially with spring rolling around.

The Ferrari market should be warming up a bit over the next month or two. I would hang tight and ask $49K in March.

Non-Ferrari dealers don't want your car.

Prices are set by the amount someone WILL pay and the price someone WILL let it go for....Why would anyone who values the composite make up of the Ferrari experience what to sell this cheap?

Set your price high and hold on....
    better yet...keep the car..
it will always be worth something....not like the family car!

I don't mind stepping up here, I'll give you $36k so you come out $1k ahead of what the dealer would have paid you!

Hey Ken you already stole one 348 and now you want another? ;)

This is the absolute worst time to sell a 348 due to the weather, but the absolute best time to try to make a deal BUYING one.

All other things being equal, I'd figure a $3K discount on a 348 in the dead of winter.

Hey let's keep this in perspective. The guy that offered you the $35 jack for your 348 is a DEALER. Would you expect him to pay you $48K, keep it in his showroom for 3-4-5-6 months, pay the light bill, etc., then turn around and sell it for $50K?

If a dealer doesn't consistently buy for WHOLESALE and sell for RETAIL, he goes out of business. Unfortunately I speak from personal experience.

My only gripe is that the 35k I was offered was for a trade on a 355 ( happened to me also and have since changed my mind ) and the dealer was making big money on both cars. Don't deny anyone a profit but this was "way over the top". This is perhaps why they sit on cars for a long time.
