I would avoid Spanish. French or German is a much better choice. Just because illegal immigrants are crossing the border does not mean Spanish will help you. France and Germany are two of the largest economies in the world.

Nation ------- GDP ---------- per capita
    ----------------------------------------
    Mexico ------ 0.693 trillion ----- $10,000
    France ------ 2.055 trillion ----- $29,600
    Germany ---- 2.730 trillion ----- $30,100
    Italy -------- 1.710 trillion ----- $28,700
    Japan ------- 4.664 trillion ----- $31,600
    USA -------- 12.490 trillion ---- $41,600

Here is a good list of reasons to learn French - http://www.ecu.edu.au/ses/iccs/cware/french/motivation/whyfren.htm

I would also consider how much fun a language is. France and Italy offer lots of high end goods- fashion, food, films. Germany and France are known as a centers of science in Europe.

If you look at just the $$$ above, you might be tempted to study Japanese. But I believe you could learn both French and German in the time it would take to learn Japanese. Unless you want to work for Sony or Toyota, I would pick a European language.

My hard work earned me a 1.58 my first semester, my lowest was .77 which coincided with my last semester of engineering. I did end up with a final gpa of 3.3 (or so). You will make a bigger difference than your gpa does in the end. I had a friend that was having trouble getting into medical school at the time. He told me he felt like writing a book called "How Not To Get Into Medical School". His grades were high, but so was competition to get into school. He felt like it would have been better for him to have bombed the first semester, and then show a marked improvement, than to have had strong grades from the beginning.

A 3.0? I would be shocked if you could find the toilet on your own.

Wait is this a scale of 100 or 10?

Ahh I souldn't judge, I was in the minus category.

If you can do better, then do better. If not, then you've done your best.

in America there is a 4.0 grading system
    ie: A+=4.0, A-+3.7, B+=3.3, B=3 etc until you get to F which is 0

Wow, you must be one of those super anal-retentive people. I guess it does depend on your school. I very rarely studied, never had to in high school is probably why. But I never liked school, and always felt I learned more from a hands on experience. My gpa was only like 2.7. I could careless. I got my degree, I landed a job in the real estate field and plan to stay in it. Lots of money to be made if you know which avenues to take.
