New 360 spider

I just bought this 360 spider F1 yesterday, live in Metrowest (Westborough) - when the weather warms, I need to go for a drive.

I bought it from a private party in the midwest. I am having it shipped here in a week or two - probably will be snow by then so I will have to wait until spring to take it out. I hope the Capristo exhaust is not too loud, I live in a quiet subdivision and sometimes come home 11 pm or later. It has 5K miles. It will share as a daily driver for me along with 993 cabriolet. I have wanted a 360 spider since they were introduced - its my 40th birthday present to myself.

I used to be in the Porsche club and do some events, but I have not had time in several years for those. Are there any car events (ferrari or others) in metrowest area? There are some nice cars out here - in Westborough alone I know of a chalenge stradale, a 430 spider, a carrera gt and gallardo. I saw posts for meets at Starbucks in Beverly or somewhere northshore, but that is at least an hour from here.

 

Love the Daytona seats - Too bad you're so far from Beverly - great bunch of guys - but if it's too far for you - wait until the good weather and start your own thread for a get together in your area.

When spring comes, I will make it up there at least once. I plan to drive this car +5K miles per year, it will not be a GQ (Garage Queen).

A few years ago there was a car show / display at a park in Weston that had many Fcars. Does anyone know when that takes place?

 

Don't know about a car show at a park in Weston, but Boston Sports Car - on the main drag in Weston- does a very nice open house in early November.

 

I think it's a Labor Day thing but I can't remember - I've only seen it on the news.

I was leaning towards titanium, but then this one looked good with the seats and wheels, so I went red. Thanks for all the compliments. I am awaiting arrival in the next week or so - I will just have to go out to the garage and sit in it and enjoy my morning coffee. Imagine getting a car like this and not being able to drive it (salt, snow, etc.) - that will suck.

BTW - is there a cup holder in a 360 (I doubt it) - if not, I will have to install one as I had to in my 993 (no cup holder there either) since I like to get up early on Saturdays and SUndays (b4 wife and kids), usually between 6-7 AM and go out for coffee with the top down in the summer. I have found coffee stands 10 miles away for this very purpose - Beverly starbucks will make the list - what time do you get there (the earlier the better). I will have to start a cup holder thread in the 360 section and put my flame suit on (rennlist - a site like this for Porsche - busts people's cajones all the time about putting a cup holder in a 911 - I can only imagine the Ferrari crowd).

 

The usual get together time is 9:30-11-30. I'm with you on the coffee holder thing - some guys jury rig a cup holder on the riight hand seat - not totally stable, but what is....your seats are worth more than some cars, so ruining them for a $5 latte .... well you'll just have to live with that : )
