Mike was the crew member for Kevin Crowders racecars, his F40, F50, 280, California Spider and all his other specialty cars when he was with FoDallas. He knows Ferrari very well and I highly recommend him. However, Norwoods is also excellent and probably a little bit less in the cost department. What year is the car? If it is newer, 2000 and up, I would recommend Mike because he has all the latest equipment to work with for the later model cars. Norwoods has tons of experience working with the older models and I would recommend them for that. Either way, you can't miss. Duh, I would guess you have a 328. Am I close????
Actually, I have a newer 2000 model Modena and Norwoods has done a fantastic job working on my car. They have all the latest equipment to work with for later model cars and you will get your car back faster than taking it to Lambo.
Norwoods is awesome from what I've heard - James Patterson is a very nice and extremely knowledgeable guy. Another one to consider is Robert Rodgers of Shade Tree Enginetrics in Nevada, TX. He did a pretty comprehensive pre-inspection on my 348 for all of $75. I told Robert, "I'm buying this car sight-unseen. If you think it's a good car, I'll buy it. If you don't, I won't." Robert said "Good car", so I bought it right then and there. Car never left his shop until he had the 30K done on it and it was on its way to my garage. He did a comprehensive engine out 30K service and did an outstanding job. The motor looked like brand new. Robert is currently restoring a Siata for a customer. Robert says this is likely a $1 million-ish machine. Robert is an absolute expert on anything Fiat, Maserati, or Ferrari. In fact he doesn't touch anything that's not Italian. But it's just himself so sometimes you have to wait longer than you'd like. But in the end he is well worth it and very affordable.
I also can not say enough good things about Robert at Shade Tree. While I do not own a Ferrari, he is the only one I let work on my 24V Alfa 164. He does a great job with it. Jeff Dallas, Texas
