Why no F430's? Totally not F car related, but What is the reason there are no Dodge entries (esp Comp Coupe's or Vipers), if you know? It must be a certification issue, but what exactly?

Approved Dodge is the Stratus Coupe (can be Semi-tube frame chassis). The Ferraries are the 360 & 430 Challenge cars only (No Tube Frame). No GTC's allowed. It is my opionon is that the 360 & 430 Challenge cars are not competitive in this series.

Perhaps not competitive. No surprise there really since Ferrari burned their bridges with Prodrive, a company that can make cars very competitve.

Does anyone else thing allowing Tony George to run in Prototypes is a bad idea? I read where he has already crashed during practice. This sounds like it might be a case where his money is allowing him to put others safety at risk. I understand that he has had previous experience however getting into DP class sounds a little over the top.

The DP aren't real sportscars; they are for the most part, spec, rear-engined nASScrap-mobiles. I'll wait until the ALMS series begins at Sebring in March..

I'll agree for the most part, but they still put on a great racing show. Being more "spec", the races are about driver skill. And without a doubt, the hardware is still impressive.
Do you prefer watching silent R10's blowing away the competition mainly by way of an almost unlimited budget and exploiting loopholes?

I'll try to catch some of the racing action on tv if possible. Always good racing.

It was said with some degree of tounge-in-cheek. I though that it was fairly obvious.

In any regard, the technology of the ALMS/ELMS/Le-Mans/FIA series cars is considerably advanced from the Daytona Prototypes.

As to my personal racing experience, it was fairly intensive, but in the small-displacement classes, and years ago, so not really relative..

I've always thought top level racing should be about unlimited budgets, minimal rules (displacement and maximum physical size of the car and not much more), and may the best man and car win...

I think I'll probably skip it this year . Only the one 360 , no 430's. I'm sorry, call me a girlie-maan, but I think the DP cars are so ugly and boring. They are a little too much like Nascar, same basic shape with different paint jobs. I'm on this forum because I'm a Ferrari freak, so I'll wait for ALMS. What I really love is the FIA series and LeMans series from Europe.. Incredible variety of cars and the 430's absolutely kick A**. Call me shallow.

Watched it when we got home from Fort Worth last night and had the tv on since 6 am - watching it on big plasma screen at new house and fantastic to say the least.

What a battle for the DP's - with Sun Trust down 5 laps during the night and Max challenging on lead lap is great. I must say that I am definitely pulling for Montoya and the 01 car to take the race but with just over two hours to go it's anyone of the three car's race. Going into commercial - Montoya has a 1.2 second lead over car 011 with Dyal (sp) and Max is right behind him making up 5 seconds in this stint thus far. Final pit stops and driver changes not far away - hope Scott Pruett will take the the 01 across the finish line first.

Great race for JPM - hope to see him in endurance racing more!

10 car had clutch problems and hot shoe Magnussen inherited it with hot brakes. Stayed tuned for more of my dyslexic commentary.
