20 degrees. Wind Chill of 6 degrees. Snow and ice. Road salt and SUVs everywhere. Perfect Ferrari weather!!! More proof that these cars are tougher than they look. Mine's no garage queen! Let's hear it for ABS!!! I'd take my cars out in the snow, but we tend to get a nice layer of ice under the snow. Since the driveway to my garage is quite steep (albeit not too long) and my cars are parked nose-in, none of them would make it out backing-up. I'm actually dying to take my TR3 out in the snow, just to get crazy looks from folks. (Triumph's TR3 was a Alpine Rally weapon...won its class and placed many times.)
JJ, 1. I know 2. It handled pretty well, actually. I was careful but I think that this cars good balance probably plays more of a part than any skill I may have. You just have to be gentle and with steering, braking, and acceleration. The car takes care of the rest.
Yes I am sure he washed off the road salt. He's crazy, but he ain't dumb! I just love 328s! I'm sure the car thanked you for the drive!
Great to see the car being used, thats what its there for. Just as an aside, I though you were better off without ABS in heavy snow conditions, it pushes up a bank of snow in front of the wheels under braking.
Great car man! How many miles are on her? I drove my car around this past weekend, and rarely to the office. It basically never snows here in Atlanta, so I need not worry about it's handling in the snow!
THANK G-D!!!!!!! It is soo good to see someone with a properly-sized set of dangling bits who owns a Ferrari. PS: try using Blizzak WS-50 tires. Amazing handling in the snow and ice Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've heard that Blizzaks are good for snow. I just don't think it snows enough here to justify going through the trouble of getting them put on.
Lot's of people drive Porsche's in the snow due to the rear engine traction help. Mid engine Ferrari's I would think would be the same. I'm trying to figure out where to attach my ski rack now and looking for chains...... Been 60 + all winter except for a few days, no threat of snow, that's for sure here! Thanks for the pictures! Man, I'm jealous... I wish my car had corrosion protection. Somehow, I've got a 27-year-old car in the Bay Area with no rust! It's raining today, and I want to drive my car so badly, but I think I'll chicken out and wait for bluer skies...
Thank you... Fortunately, it shows much better in pictures than in person. I appreciate the compliment, though! The picture was taken by Brian Harper out the passenger window of *his* white GT4 while on a recent drive.
