Thats a good question. As you know, Matt has the never ending support of quite a few F-Chat heavy hitters. With that kind of backup he could very well come back and clean up this mess. We are after all, very sensitive new age kinda guy's, and forgiveness is our game....isn't it?

 

We gave him the benefit of the doubt one last time because he "came clean" a year or so ago and apologized for past behavior. I guess he won't be getting any more benefits of the doubt!

Having met him once, what stikes me is my utter failure to detect anything "off" about him. It is sort of a humbling experience to realize my intuition is not perfect.

But, he does come across as a nice guy. What it appears he did here is nuts, but it seemingly was not done to harm anyone. More of a psych issue that needs to be worked out.

 

Ok... Curiosity gets the better of me... SOOO, at the risk of being ridiculed, would someone care to explain to me what the hell is going on here? I've seen this thread grow and grow and here's what I got so far (without really reading much of it):

(1) Someone has claimed he is undertaking an ambitious, extremely costly, and apparently rather unbelievable factory restoration of a 308.

(2) Many Fchatters don't believe him.

(3) Said person has a history -- of some kind -- on Fchat.

(4) I'm still relatively new here, and don't believe I know the main players in this saga.

...That's about it. Is that about it?
