    MAN that engine is BEAUTIFUL...

    *cries* That is horrible, but I think it's also a repost. Still though, horrible. You buy the car knowing its going to cost alot...you dont change out teh best part to cheapskate your way out.

    ENZO would turn in his grave, its one thing to upgrade from the original, he did that all the time, but to cut the heart out, shame on you. (or whoever did it}

    Well now, aint that interesting. That car was bought off eBay something like a year ago, and then the guy joined Fchat to speak all its virtues. What a POS. Now some other poor sucker will buy it, join Fchat, and tell us all how great it is. Why dont one of you rich guys buy it and put it out of our misery?

    Wasn't this guy on here talking about suspension problems he was having? I also remember he mentioned some other difficulties....but, it's been a while since I've seen him post. I guess the engine swap wasn't such a good idea?

    Awwww... come on, guys. That little V-6 looks so CUTE in there. LOL It never ceases to amaze me what people will do to cars and then, when they want to sell them, come up with some wild explanation of how it REALLY is a good thing that they did. Heck, for $12K, if someone had an engine from a 308 laying around, it is a pretty good looking body. Paul, did you spot this one????

    It seems like he was asking some suspension tuning advise a few months ago....like the handling was all hosed up with the GW rear subframe stuck in there. Go figure.

    I could almost understand it if the point was to drop it a 600hp small block...but a 2.8???

    Moi? No, if I was going to pay over $12K for a 308, it would come with a Ferrari engine attached to it. I dont think any of the salvage guys would pay $12K for that car if it had a dead Ferrari engine in it. Takes to long to get your money back. With that pos in there, its worth more in labor to remove it than that lump is worth. Then it sounds like someone mangled up some kind of strut suspension. That ugly 328 with the GTO body kit is a better deal.

    If they altered the rear suspension to struts, then this thing is not even a rolling chassis. You would need to buy rear suspension arms, shocks, axles, hubs and brakes to make it a true roller. And God only knows what they cut out/and or welded into the chassis. Then you need a used gearbox, a used motor, headers and exhaust, accessories...... You could easily spend well over $15K in parts. For what, almost $30K for a basket case you still have to put together?

    Sadly, this car is going to continue to pass through peoples hands until the cars values come up to where its worth fixing it, or it gets cut up for parts. The later is much more likely in the immediate future.

    An American V-6 in that?? How tasteless. He could at least have put a Porsche air-cooled powerplant in it and increase reliability and durability!

    what a horrible thing to see (and hear)..i am crying at the moment..... if you don't have the money for fixing it, then put it in a garage till you have the money or sell it, but don't do that. it is a shame........ :( :(

    But it will "cruise at 60 mph in' 4th gear.

    I do 120 in 4th gear at 5 or 6K rpm's in my Mondi.

    Have any idea how many of what are now multi million Ferrari race cars had Chevys put in them in the late 50's early and mid 60's?

    Nothing new, just makes all the others worth more.

    I told a guy at work about this. He does tires for us part time and is a welder days. He said it made sense if a guy like him wanted to drive a ferarri and couldn't afford the parts and stuff.

    I told him without the engine he wouldn't be driving a ferrari. That he would be better off buying a nice Camaro of firebird to screw around with.
