    The PO had a the air con system refurbed by Boston Sportscar, including new foam. However, after looking through the part catalog and looking at the underside of the hood, I beleive there should be a piece that seals up the sparetire compartment. Can someone confirm this and maybe post a pic?

    Absolutely correct, two identical strips across, one at radiator and another at the start of the tire cradle, on later cars I've seen the tire cradle one angle slightly towards rear of car at the edges....so not straight for last 6" or so each side.....

    When I answer, I'm talking early carb cars so apologies for that.....

    Use a closed cell foam instead of original open cell...lasts longer and won;t soak water to the metal......

    Here's a pic from the parts manual showing what you should have. My car already had the curved piece but the other four pieces were missing. I used gray foam from Do It Center for the other four pieces and it works well. Foam UNDER radiator not shown in the photo. The car never overheats now since all the air is going through the radiator, not around it.

    That foam across the top and sides of the radiator makes a big difference in keeping the engine cool on a hot day. Without it, air can go around the radiator rather than through it!

    Thanks guys, perfect. The new foam around my radiator also does not go past the fins to the top. I'll have to find something to stuff in there. I assume it fastened to the radiator itself? How does it fit around the hoses on the right hand side? From the picture it looks like it just rests on top and is not a part of the piece below it.

    How about some details on this Do It Center...city, phone etc. Plus details about the product...Mfgr/pn etc.

    I've been to every hardware & home improvement center within 50 miles of me near Portland and nada. That includes Lowe's and Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, Ace Hardware, etc.

    I did a 411.com search for the home improvement stores you might possible have used from Camarillo to Thousand Oaks and turned 271 listings. No obvious clues.

    So, Michael...help us please.

    No problem - I'll drop by the local Do It Center here in Thousand Oaks, CA today and buy a bag of the foam since it's only about $5. I'll then post pics of the product so you guys can locate it locally or on-line.

    Go to an air conditioning supply and use Armorflex, in various sheet sizes and thickness...it's closed cell in lieu of open and one side actually has a 'skin' to repel moisture.....

    it's plain strips on all sides of the rad but at each top corner a trapaziodal shaped 'block' makes the total seal.......I cut an extra one but I can't find it......one of you artists take a try?

    Its basically a rectangle with a triangle added at the top inside corner to follow rad radius.......RH amd LH.....LOL! Use Mom's bread knife..

    As Bird says it makes ALL the difference in the system on the open 'push' fans...this foam actually MAKES the plenum.......

    Is there a way to R&R the foam on both side of the radiator without removing the radiator?

    I found the air conditioning foam at ACE and used the 1/4 inch size. To test I used thin double sided tape and installed four blocks (2 per side) and stuck them to each other and the radiator. (I may just leave it at that) All I can say is WOW! Just closing up that 3 inch gap to the top of the radiator dropped the temp around 15 degrees according to the gauge. I am going to to order the one that closes up the spare tire comparment from Ferrari for the "factory" look. Can't wait to see if that makes a difference in cooling AND in cabin temp. Thanks to everyone for the help.

    UPDATE: I finally got a new spare tire compartment foam seal and installed it two days ago. It hasn't seemed to make a difference in running temp (hovering around 195F with upper 70s/low 80s ambient) BUT it made a HUGE difference in cabin temp. I don't feel any heat coming into the cabin anymore. Makes driving a pleasure. Thanks to everyone that helped.

    Sorry, I never got pics posted but glad you got it sorted.....

    You are right the front seal is for the cooling system, the second one is for YOU! LOL!

    Got that right! NP on the pix. I downloaded the parts manual from the owners site and have other pix. Plus, just got the Ferrari V8 book. Not as good as my Trirumph ones, but not bad.

    i cut it to size then shoved it in place with a stick and a piece of wire.
