i too was worrried that there wasn't much around to do but then again that may be a good thing; nothing to distract from the reason of the gathering, the people and the cars. i'm cool with sitting by the car with a steak on a grill and a cold brew.

Just think how cool it would be if we had only a 15-20% turnout too!
I'd take the week off to hang out with 40 308's!

Bingo. The future is very much in question, and has already caused considerable concern for local VIR track events. Personally, I would not put eggs in that basket unless there is a firm commitment the place will actually be open when you pull up the driveway.

I tried to go to the Berry Hill Plantation Resort website and it is no longer active. What is the deal?

Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

Sounds like VIR is a bust due to lack of motels/hotels and the Dragon is too far for the Nor' Easterners. So does anyone know of another place around central VA that has decent roads/scenery (NOT DC) that we can meet? Maybe something an hour or less off of I95?

Now don't everyone jump on me all at once,

I have never been there, but these were suggested by someone who lives in North Carolina. They are not road courses, but sould like long scenic drives, and Hotel are plentiful. Maybe someone knows or lives in the area and can make a recomendation

#1. Beaufort: Cedar Island to Beaufort Scenic Drive
A 44-mile paved drive from Cedar Island National Wildlife Refuge

#2. Cape Hatteras National Seashore: Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge to Hatteras Scenic Drive, A 48-mile drive past the seemingly endless beaches and dunes of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, with a visit to a wildlife refuge and what is probably the best-known lighthouse in America.

I've done the Outer Banks and it is beautiful. It is also a loooooong way off I95 and can get expensive and book up fast in the summer. Not much of a "drive" though. 2 lane road with lots of tourists going slow in the heat.

I've never been to Beaufort though.

    Gentlemen,
The issue here is that VA in general seems to be the best place in terms of meeting halfway. Whether we meet at Berry Hill, it seems to me, is irrelevent. There are plenty of places in VA to meet. I'm sure some of our VA Fchatters can chime in.

The poll isn't over yet, but I think we know that VA has won. The people have spoken. If there is any doubt about Berry Hill, we bag it and find another place in VA.

Any interest in going to Charlotte or Richmond International Raceway for a NASCAR race.. Get the Ferraris on the track for a couple of parade laps before the race?

A sea of Ferrari's crusing around the track?

Charlotte is May 27 or Oct 13
Richmond is May 5 or Sept 8

    They have beer there too!

That would be a blast and thanks for a very creative suggestion. Can't help but think though that all those Nascar folks would be pelting us with cow pies and empty Bud cans.
    Seriously, I would love that.

    OK gentlemen,
The poll is closed and the official winner is VA. Can anyone find out for us where the "Berry Hill/VIR" event will be held this year, if in fact the Berry Hill facility is closed?

We need to find out where it is being held and when. Then we decide if we want to join it or do our own event at another place/time in VA. Once we have the info, we will do a poll and decide if we join the event or not.

Anyone have any info on next year's event?

    Thanks

    Birdman

Looking at the FCA-NA calendar, there appears to be no Berry Hill event, so we may be on our own anyway, which is fine with me.

Agreed. There have got to be some good places to meet in VA. It's a pretty big state! All VA state cops can't be SOBs.
