It's really more of a family neighborhood. We'll probably be the youngest home owners in the vicinity, our tastes might not be in tune with the next buyer. For that reason we're trying to decide just how modern we want the place to look. We want hardwood through out, with granite tile in the kitchen and baths, but I'm not sure how that will go with families. Black granite counters and floors, with stainless appliances and white cabinets might not be "homey" enough. We're still about 15 days out from starting, so we've got some time to decide.
Did someone say kitchen? Well since mine isn't worth posting, how about the world's only CARBON FIBRE kitchen: www.sheer.it Personally I like the concept, though I'm not entirely convinced of the practicality of the design...
Personally, I'd shy away from black floors. Unless you clean them constantly, your floors will always look dirty (major turn-off for future buyers). Without seeing pictures of the house and neighborhood, I can't really say how the other colors would look.
Those ex-rental properties are nothing compared to the ones I see every day...we are renovating the apartments here at my college and some of them are naaaasty...the walls literally crawl when you walk in. I'll post some pics if my boss will let me in with my camera..

I love built-in refrigerators. Having one takes some planning. I'm also jealous of anyone who has a gas cooktop. We're mostly electric down here. RMX
I love to cook...but I hate cooking here in my apartment at college because we have electric ranges :| but when I go home..
i would figure the fridge would be the bottom portion of both units, and the freezer would be top. looks almost like two fridge/freezer combos stuck together. except for the fact that the handles are on opposite sides so all the handles are in the middle when both are side-by-side.
They are two units that where ordered to be used that way. The tops are freezers bottoms are fridges, so basically they are two 36" refrigerators.
