http://www.rpgforums.com/pics/rb/fr1.jpg http://www.rpgforums.com/pics/rb/fr2.jpg notice the difference in color tone from 'dark light' to 'bright light'. i'm convinced this will replace tdf blue!
Nice -- it looks metallic -- is it ? I was worried that it was going to be too "lavender" like your wheels on the old 355C but this actually looks like it could be pretty cool!
nothing to report. yet. naveen ordered his after mine, and i think his is supposed to get delivered this week. gg custom paint job slowdown, eh?
I guess so! Well, nothing wrong with letting the CEO get his car first -- could be viewed as a smart move. lol. So what other specs did you get ? Is it a coupe or spider ? 6sp/f1 ? interior color, CF options etc .. .. inquiring minds want to know
so i called up to see where we were at, and i'm hearing like a late april timeframe! well exterior color as you know is this incredibly studly purple unlike no other purpleness of incredibilitism. (don king impression?) interior is tan. I was tryign to get it 'yellow' but i thought this was a good compromise. yellow would probably really be kinda gross anyway, but the sf shields are yellow. f1 spider, just like the 360 is, of course, yo!
April! Holy moly -- I think the folks in Maranello might be Cougar fans..... and I think your subconcious is a Husky fan even if you're not ... purple & gold ... come on ... it's time to face up to the overwhelming evidence Your car is going to be very original -- I'm looking forward to seeing it ..
!! yeah me too. think 'yahoo colors', not 'uw colors'. i just picked up the new 360 battery this morning so i ought to be able to get back out in the meantime. the last one was very unhappy when i put the charger on it, spilling acid and vile crap all over the floor of my garage.
Reminds me of this Homer Simpson quote: Homer: Lisa, would you like a donut? Lisa: No thanks. Do you have any fruit? Homer: This has purple in it. Purple is a fruit.
now wait a second. lemons are also fruits. therefore lemons are purple. and purple cars are lemons? is that what are you trying to say?
FoS have installed battery tenders in my cars -- I think they're around $200 installed -- best $200 you can spend IMO. They do a really good job with a "pigtail" discretely hidden underneath the driver's seat that you just plug into an outlet if you're going to let your car sit for a while. Because it's a tender, not a charger, it's safe to leave it plugged in for weeks (if you can bear to see your car neglegted in the garage for that long!).
Have you seen the "triple yellow" car ? (yellow ext, yellow leather, yellow carpets) It is the most hideous car and an assault to the eyes. I think you were wise to avoid yellow; should you ever decide to sell the car, selling a purple car might be a bit of challenge, but selling a purple car with a yellow interior .... well, you'd probably have to give it away...
the jobdango purple is much more pastel. one of the guys in the office here calls the color 'bluple' since it looks blue under low light, and only looks purple with a lot of direct light.
FoS installed an "on board" battery tender (NAPA 1.5 amp) in my car....just above the battery in the right front of my trunk...pretty slick. I just pop the hood and plug her right in, as I have an outlet right next to the right front of the car in my garage.
I still have a problem with a 100k car you have to "plug-in" every time you park it. There is something wrong with that and the engineers should be ashamed. My decrepit 308 still fires off after sitting 5 months with no charge -GASP!!!!
We software-types call it "feature creep" ... you add one gizmo here that's a few milliamp continuous draw, another "essential" system there with a few milliamps there, and pretty soon you have a car that won't start after a short stay at an airport parking lot. It's not a unique problem to Ferraris, but a lot of modern cars have sufficient draw "doing nothing" to drain an 80 Ah battery in a few weeks, or quicker if it's cold out....
well, in this particular case, the headlights were left on. the 328 drains itself it about a month. i'm not sure why. but i do have a nice itty bitty trickle charger for the 328. regardless, neither of these cars of purple.
We Ferrari chat types call this "Battery Tender creep" ... You add one thread about battery tenders and it adds a side thread and then another alternate thread and ... </big chuckle>
DJ, ALL modern cars have this problem....but most are "daily drivers" so few have a problem...not the case with Ferraris. I see posts on the BMW forums all the time by folks that let their BMW sit for several weeks and the darn car won't start. They all end up getting battery tenders too.
could it be the lines on the lambo's can handle any color where as ferrari can only truly be red Just a thought what do you think Hugh
Dunno, I really like Ferraris in blue, yellow, silver, titanium and black...but for me, I gotta have red!
they've finally gotten around to selling my old racecar. if you are bored, it's the purple on the wheels here. http://www.ferrariofseattle.com/inventory/details.aspx?ID=42
