    Had to tell everyone this story. Way back in 1991 I had bought a corvette ZR1.My first super car. Great car, I drove it everyday,dated my girlfreind"now my wife" in that car, drove numerous times to LA and back to visit her at Long Beach State, even have a picture of the speedo at 155 on 5!! I have many pictures of myself and my wife before we were married, we look like we are twelve years old.I even asked her to marry me in that car. Well in 1993 I sold it out of guilt more than financial reasons, my wife was pregnant"how did that happen?" So the other day I saw one drive down Los Gatos Blvd, black on black, just like my old car. When I got home, just for fun I was checking ZR1 prices on the net. There was one for sale in Los Gatos,black on black, and the name of the gentleman selling it sounded very familiar, it was the same guy I sold the car to in 1993!! He still owned it after all these years with only 17,800 miles. He was the one driving down Los Gatos Blvd!! I had to buy it just for the sentimental reasons if nothing else. It is all original as well, even the tires. Strange how things work sometimes. Dan

    Good story. Better change those old tires though :)

    I too just looked up my old RX7TT today. Looks like there is a change of ownership because I see the car getting smogged a few times last year.

    Did you ever have that silly shift limiter fixed that disabled your ability to shift under certain RPM situations?

    That was the first thing I did to the car. GM did it to get by the gas guzzler law.

    I am going through the process of buying a 1987 Testarossa that is having an engine-out service and some transmission work done by the owner; it should be ready this spring.

    The question came up - which car should go to make room? I have both a 2004 Z06 and a 1995 ZR1. (both black on black like yours-)

    Your thread is making things a lot more clear to me. I think the ZR1 will eventually be accepted as a "keeper" if not the full classic like an old Sting Ray. Besides, it drives better than a Z06 and will look better next to the Testarossa! Both cars will be about 1000-2000 miles per year collector items for me.

    So glad you found it again...you need to log on to the ZR1 newsletter and tell them the story!

    As much as I love the Z06 I think the ZR1 is a special car and a keeper. I will check out the ZR1 newsletter and congrats on the Testarossa.
