    Hi gang,

I checked the threads and didn't find a answer.

Does anybody know if the brakes/calipers/pads on a 308 with the metric wheels are the same size as the 16" equip 308s?

Will the Porterfield R4S pads fit my car?

You could maybe confirm this for yourself if the part numbers in the SPC are the same for each component (www.eurospares.co.uk) across carb, i, and QV

(Can't recall any difference coming up here.)

My QV has its original TR390s and a 2nd set of 16" QV wheels. Brakes are the same as Porsche 911 (ATE calipers) and the porterfield R4-S pads (I have them as well) are a vast improvment.

390s were available for all 1980 and later I believe. 16" wheels were offered beginning in '83 but not all had them.

I'm 99% sure the pads are the same on all 308s. I just put the R4s Porterfields on mine. I don't have enough time on them to know if they are any good yet, but they better be....not cheap!!

Swiss spec Euro car, 16's were not an option for Switzerland due to noise restrictions I believe.

The Porterfield R4-S pads are excellent, as long as they are good and warm, the get a little noisy when very hot, but the hotter they get the better they work. Cold they are a little un-nerving on the first stop or two. Also, they tend to dirty up the wheels more than my old pads (by the end of my last track day at Willow Springs my wheels were dark graphite colored).
