DANG all the good names are taken ...

Ferrari Antislip Grabbers....***s for short ?
they'll give the Carpet Munchers some stiff competition.
......But they might take a licking against the D.I.K.E's.

Whatever ya want to call it, here's a shot of one installed in our Mondial. Again, this is the production sample with no finish on it. It will be black in the production run. I am impressed by how well this thing holds the mat. It works just as well as I hoped.

The black square tube below the seat rail is a 1" spacer I made to make the driver's seat higher for my wife.

This just goes to prove that my ideas are always too late. I actually made a set of these for my 328 about 3 months ago. I know you had the idea first and you had the brains to produce it. The difference with mine was I used a hex head screw with a sharpened point to secure the mat. Yours is much simpler to build, that is for sure.

    Great job!

Gene, that's a good idea. I'm not sure mine is easier to build. Took a while to find someone that was capable and I had to go to Hong Kong and order 1,000 of them!

I just got around to installing mine. Very cool and they are working great. Although I keep reaching down to pull the floor mat out of habit.

    Birdman,

Very ingenious product...I have been trying to figure out how to fix the carpet slide problem in my 308 for awhile. The one question I have is how do the "grippers" of the carpet react over time to the driver placing their feet on the driver side carpet? Your product looks great but the stress o the carpet from people placing their feet on the carpet as well as drivers moving their feet to accelerate, brake and use the clutch, to me looking at your invention would eventually create a tear in the driver's side carpet. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I would love 'em but my velcro is just working fine...but I like "hardware" ( esp. new cool items for an old ferrari...nobody but BM really makes goodies for us anymore...) so hope the velcro fails sometime soon....

No idea....mine are still holding fine. There is no doubt, they grab the mat with a pair of teeth, and eventually these teeth may chew a small hole through. But I don't think this is going to result in failure in a short period of time. Keep in mind that these are to hold the floor mats, not the carpet. Floor mats are there to protect the carpet. They wear out, you replace them every couple of years. With normal use, the floor mats develop holes and wear from your heels. If you are overly concerned about the mat grabbers destroying the floor mats, I would be concerned about the heels of your shoes too. Perhaps the only proper course of action is to cover the mats with something to protect them! ;)

I ordered mine on the 28th- anxiously awaiting their arrival !
(I've been leaving the mats at home to avoid the floor mat cruise control)

I have been using them on my 328 for most of this summer. They work great. There are some similar carpet stays advertised in Forza for $198.00 plus shipping (page 107, issue #80).

These work good on my 328! for the driver floor mat, one grabber left track i installed it with sharp edges up, because of carpet interference, so for saftey i took a small piece of door edge guard and trimmed it to fit sharp edges(the width of the leading edge). Right track installed sharp edges down so there was no problem there! The only thing i didnt like was mat moved a little too much, so i took a small piece (of what is like RV truck camper top insulation foam type stuff with the peel off backing if you know what i mean?,or use some other type of small foam) approx 1/2 square with the aid of a small flat tip screwdriver stuffed it into the teeth of the mat grabber while the matt was in its jaws and........bingo no more movement!
