    Yes. MyBook. :)

    As per the manual:

    Windows 98SE

You must install the device drivers on your system. Go to Go to support.wdc.com, click Downloads, locate your product name, and download the device driver installer onto your computer desktop.

    It's so ugly.

My favorite is the Lacie Porsche designed 500gb harddrive. I don't have a website on me, but pcmall.com sells it for like 200$ or so, my buddy gets them to me for 170$ and some change.

I'm thinking about buying a few and creating a usb raid. Still up in the air though.

BTW - If anyone needs discounted computer parts in bulk, let me know and I might be able to help out like Adam did with IBM's.

Does anyone have any familiarity with NAS systems such as the Intel SS4000ENA listed on Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822106001. These seem to be the answer for me as I could set the various networked computers in the house to back up to the NAS and have it set up for Raid 1 or 5 depending on the number of hard drives I put in it. I am interested in going this route, but I don't know much about such systems.

My friend, if you still have Windows98 it's about time you think about getting a new computer.
The reasons are 2 fold actually
    1) You're just missing out on a large experience on what owning a very stable computer is like with all the multimedia tool, productivity tools, and a slew of other features.
    2) Windows9x is just inherently insecure, and I believe they stopped support for it so any new exploits that come out won't be covered, you could be helping a botnet unaware! :(

One for you, one for me :D

If you want something simple that works, look no further than an iMac. I got my uncle one yesterday (he's a doctor, and no offense to him but he's the most un-computer person ever) and he's already put almost half of his cd collection into iTunes and created a party playlist. His past few computers I've bought and built for him, this one he setup all himself. It's that easy.

I have a 250gig acomdata (made by seagate) hard drive that works great. I store tons of movies and tv shows on it and I haven't had any problems so far.

I just transferred everything from my MyBook onto my new computer. A seamless, flawless transition that only took an hour and 27 minutes. I'm very happy. :) I'm thumbing through all of my data right now and my EHD is off and disconnected. It barely got warm.

I just put a 300GB Seagate 3.5" drive into a Acomdata 509 external data case running firewire.

    Total cost $150
