I'm still in the Testarossa ranks for now. But I've been having an "affair" with the 360 for some time. I'm just a blue-collar guy, and as such do my own engine-out services. Would I be able to do a service on a Modena myself? I can understand that some of the electrical issues may be dealer only (trouble codes, etc.). But if it's mechanicals....can these things be accomplished by a semi-skilled enthusiast?

Why not! I guess I'm not really blue collar anymore, but I still enjoy working on cars. It looks pretty straight forward to me!

Wow....so there's an access panel behind the seats! That is the way it should be! I wish the Testarossa was like that. It still looks pretty tight, but I'd imagine you can do the job while being fairly comfortable laying in the passenger compartment? Thank You for posting this information. It's only making me want a 360 more than ever now...

The Detomaso Pantera had the panel access behind the seats in 1971. Ferrari is not inventing anything new here.

True, but new for Ferrari. I would rather have a Ferrari with no access panel than a Pantera with one.

No one is claiming they are. Ferrari has had them before too, on cars where it was physically possible.

    Nope, 288 and F40.

But you are right about that Puntera thing.

Right Brian. Now I remember seeing the panel removed on the 288 in your shop a few monthes back, the F40 is news to me. Once again you have enlightened me with your wonderful technical knowledge (absolutely no sarcasm meant here).

I agree regarding the Ferrari versus the Pantera. No negativity intended...was just highlighting that Pantera had it in 1971. With all their problems, they at least did something right. Cheers.
