Hi guys, A short message from Nairobi, Kenya Przemek is indeed nr. 10 So he is in too. Looking forward to meeting you and your wife. I will send you my bank details as soon as I am back for a downpayment of 150 euro per person. I will transfer this money to the account of the Poggio Alloro. This means that if someone cancels he will lose this money unless there is another person/couple to replace him. Does this sound like a fair plan to you. The Fattoria prefers this rather than having us all send our CC details. I think that it is a fair way to commit to the Fattoria. They also told us that they will definitely give us the special steak night. Ton Looking forward to talk to you guys again soon.
Oh, and i forgot to mention that of course the downpayment will be fully distracted from your bill when you pay the Fattoria.
OK, let us know by when you need it. I'm going to be away until the 3rd of January, I don't know when I'll have access to my bank to make electronic transfers. Count me in!!
Thanks guys. I will arrange it with the Fattoria. It is perfectly all right if you transfer the money in early January. We will work things out as soon as I am back in Europe. Merry Christmas to all of you from Africa.
fine with me. Ton, can you ask them please what vegetarian options they have! Zoe will not be enjoying the steak or any other meat for that matter!! I should have mentioned b4 - oops - this is quite important!
Deposit is fine with me. Look forward to meeting all the European fchatters - it looks like it will be a really pan-European event. Przemek
So are we planning to be in Maranello on Sunday 24th June? I think it's a must - what an opportunity!!! http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133200&page=2
Hi Marc I stayed with Ton on Friday and we discussed this, it looks like a good plan and I've offered to get as much detail and put together a plan for thise that can make it. I'm away skiing until mid next week but will get on to it then. It may mean setting off from the UK during Friday, do you think that's a possibility for you?
Mark, Thank you for looking into this. It should really be great to attend to the anniversary celebration. As said before, count me in Ciao Eugenio
Would be great if we could discuss the technicalities of the trip on this or another thread. Not much happening on the Europe section of the forum anyway.
Przemek Good idea and it was getting confusing with all the e-mails As I understand it this is the plan we have agreed The UK guys are all happy to set off on the Friday, we will then stop part way with a view to arriving in Modena on Saturday 23rd in the Afternoon. I believe there is a plan for Andrea, Simon, Patrick and yourself to meet up maybe in Austria on the Friday and meet up with the group in Modena on the Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure where Ton and Eugenio will join us all at the moment as it depends I think on the UK route but again they will join us in Modena on the Saturday. Andrea has proposed we stay at the Raffaello Hotel in Modena his information as below; it is a big modern hotel, the rooms are good. We stayed there in 2001 for the American Maserati Club annual meeting. The Lamborghini Club also uses it to host its meetings, since it has the largest garage of any hotel in the area. You can find it on the internet. It's not a charming or typically Italian hotel, it's a big business-like hotel. Andrea, Ton and myself are all trying to get details about the Ferrari celebrations and to see if we can get an invite to anything worthwhile We stay one night there then set off around lunchtime on Sunday to drive through the hills to Tuscany arriving late afternoon and staying until Sunday 1st July
Sounds great. The Alps group was originally planning to meet up somewhere around Brenner on Saturday morning and zip through the mountain passes down to Modena to meet with the group in the afternoon. I'll be leaving on early Friday morning from Warsaw, driving via Vienna and overnighting somewhere in Austria near Innsbruck. If anyone else has a similar itinerary we'd be happy to stay in the same hotel and meet up on Friday night. Przemek
Mark, As usual great summary. As far as I am concerned, I plan to meet on the road whoever will be passing near Milan, then driving to Maranello on time for Saturday meeting. Raffaello is fine, we just have to hope that they still have rooms. Is anyone booking? If yes, let know if advanced payment is required. Hope to see you all soon. Ciao from Delhi Eugenio
Just found this (after digging through hotel reservation sites for 30 frustrating minutes!): Hotel RAFFAELLO (four star) Phone: int code plus 39-059-357-035 (from Italy: 059-357-035) Fax: int code plus 39-059-354-522 (from Italy: 059-354-522) E-mail: [email protected] - Internet connection available for guests Address: Strada per Cognento 5; I-41100 MODENA, Italy Link to the hotel here: http://www.sogliahotel.com/ Cheers, MARK
I think we sorted it all out via e-mail, but in any case I would recommend that whoever is in charge of the booking (Mark?) will do it via the website www.hotelclub.com; it requires a quick registration procedure but the rates are amazing. I often book hotels through this website, last week for a business trip to Austria a luxury 4-star hotels in the center of Graz only cost me 57 Euros per night (normal price >100). For the Raffaello I saw they have rates around 55-60 Euros for the night of the 23rd of June. We should go for it. Andrea
