Do you drive your Ferrari in the rain?

Yep. Yesterday morning, it was pouring down! Lots of standing water around, people creeping along, talking on their phones and there I was, 65 mph in the t Coupe, loving my new Goodyear F1's.

Drive it. It won't melt. Heck, mine doesn't even misfire!

I would prefer not to because its not a modern car and I would be asking for trouble , but if I am out and it starts to rain, Hey! thats life....

I don't normally go for a drive when it is raining. I have been caught in the rain several times, no big deal. Just gives me another reason why the car needs to be cleaned. I would say I probably drive the car in the rain 25-40% of the time due to the climate in South Florida.

Down here in South Florida it cloud be sunny one minute then you get a little sprinkle, no big deal gives you a reason to use the wipers!

 

I won't take it out if it's raining mainly because of the other drivers. I dont need somebody driving like a fool to loose control and hit me.

 

I've driven the Lotus in the rain and it's not fun. The two times I spun the car it was on wet roads at low speeds. The car is so light that if you turn at an intersection and hit the gas too hard the back comes around when the roads are wet. There's no point driving like an old lady so when conditions aren't perfect, I drive my Honda.

i keep wanting to...i said i would when i bought the TR and i didn't. i said i would when i bought the 328 and i didn't. i said i would when i bought the 550 and i didn't. i'm currently thinking i'll do it when i get my next testarossa, which will be a keeper....but we'll see!

i'm mostly afraid of getting the car too dirty. not really worried about rust or something breaking. these are robust cars, whether they cost 30K or 250K. i was caught in the rain in all my cars so far and they work very nicely in the rain. the wipers are best of any car i've owned. the testarossa especially, very well behaved in the rain: wipers work great, no misting, AC ran perfectly, no slipping/sliding.

I prefer not to however if it starts raining when out so what? it is a car after all not a piece of sugar.

I have, but prefer not to ... that's why I have a daily driver.

I've never seen my car so dirty as after driving in the rain ... a mess.

And since I live in sunny SoCal, where it hardly ever rains ......

I'm not saving the car for someone else, I bought it so I could have the Ferrari experience. I drive it rain or shine whenever traffic is light since the clutch is heavy.
Enjoy it, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

I love to drive the Boxer in the rain. Watching that single wiper do its job is fun.

 

In the Colorado mountains you never know. It's usually sunny in the mornings and can get some showers in the summer afternoons.

I have literally been in the sun with the top down, turned a corner in a canyon and hit rain. It usually doesn't rain hard here, and a little speed will keep you dry inside.

Biggest problem is having to clean up the car after a rain. It truly is a dirty world out there.

+1 -- same reason that I try to stay out of the wet (not that the car can't work correctly in the wet).

 

I don't even bother.
Rain, snow (not too much) salt, whatever comes.

Under rain, the car is even pretty stable at high speed.

Snow is a different story though, but i never tried on snow tires...
Maser was a pig (in rain, snow was huuuuuge fun)

 

And i don't really bother cleaning it either....

Next rain shower will take care of it

 

Sunny top-down days only for me. I drive roadsters from the '60s. Euro cars of that era were prone to cancer. There is no way I'm gonna wash and dry the wheel wells and undercarraige of my cars whenever I drive them in the rain. Hey, that's what my Volvo is for. Plus, in California, every idiot bully with an SUV thinks he's invincible in the rain at 70 mph. Of course they're the cars you're most likely to see upside down on the side of the road. But I sure don't want one rammed up the tailpipes of my E-type or Healey.

I don't take the 328 in the rain. I'm not 'saving it for the next guy', but I like to take it to shows and it's not worth crapping it up with all the road dirt, acid rain, etc.

Of course I'm in San Diego - you have to really schedule things if you want to catch a ride in a good storm anyway.

If I were going to drive one daily, I would have bought a cheaper Ferrari that I wouldn't worry as much about detailing, protecting from chips, etc. (higher mileage car, like the 60K-mile TR or 55K-mile 308 for sale in my area).

 

Drove the CS last Sunday in the rain. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to drive with an Enzo and a DTM.
