First, let me wish you well with improving the fettle of this '79 (it's a shame they get so neglected/modified).

That line from the top of the charcoal canister should be hooked up to the small tube vacuum sources on the intake manifolds (the in-line gas filter was added and is a good idea to ensure loose charcoal bits, if any, don't enter the engine).

This diagram shows a slightly-modified-from-stock-set-up for the vacuum lines on a '78-'79 US B/S and also see pages 83-88 in the 150/78 US OM for more information:

Thank you for your information. Unfortunately this car has been butchered and unnecessarily modified. I am slowly getting her back to peak and close to original condition as possible. This fine automobile was held together with tie wraps, tape and wire. It is now in hundreds of pieces on the garage floor and I am restoring as many parts as possible. Fchat is a life saver. Thanks again.

    Larry,
Sounds like a fun/challenging project. And commendable. Good luck, and will keep an eye out for your progress to see what happens (hope you're keeping tedious records for your steps).

Yep, lots of pictures and new parts. All of the hardware will be replaced with correct screws, washers, clips and moldings etc. Its cold up here in Canada, but still enjoyable working on this fantastic car and learning how it is put together.

Can't wait till Spring. Those guys down south can stop talking about driving around with their top down in Feb. anytime. heh heh

    thanks for the support

Good thing you've got a lift to get under that car.

Oh! the fork lift. Your funny. There is a real lift, you can see the pillars on each side of the car. It's an electric hoist.
