Ferrari etc. Dealer In Arlington Heights??

Could it possibly be the "Exotic Car Shares" outfit?

 

It's Phillips Motors and yes, they never seem to be open.

Maybe they just sell online as does Exotic Motors, a new outfit in Palatine.

A snow plow took out a plate glass window (you probably saw the board-up), and the Ferrari was pummeled with broken glass, as was the blue car. I'm sure the paint on the front ends must be pretty chipped up.

Not sure, but I think the blue car might be a BMW.

 

I have family near Skip/A.H. and to be honest, last time in town was certain that window had been broken before, ( going back to over a year ago. ) That 308 has been sitting there forever and not only does have damage from the glass and elements but the entire store, not just the cars, could use a strong industrial cleaning service. Very mysterious.

 

Maybe they keep waiting for the guy to come and paint "Luxury Motors" on said window...

 

I have never noticed this place, next time I am in the area, I will be on a look out.

Just seeing it from driving by, I think that was John Donovan's car.

 

Yes, and it has canvas seat covers that John put on because the seats are trashed.

If it is his car, it was a rust bucket. In fact, I've never seen another Ferrari that had a much rust as his did.

He did have the rust fixed, and the shop did a great job.

What I find interesting is that the dealer has it displayed with the broken side view mirror facing the street. The other day, the mirror was hanging by its cables.

What a marketing plan, make the customer lose interest before they even come inside.

 

Again, if that is John's car, he had a lot of mechanical work done to it since he owned it. In that respect, it should be in pretty good shape.

The only real issue when I last saw it a few years ago were the seats; especially the driver's.

That's why John put the canvas covers on.

I have a set of silver sheep skins I was going to sell him, but after using them for a while, he decided he didn't like the colour.

If anyone else is interested, I still have them. They fit the 308 and include headrest covers.

It's actually supposed be a 328 and it's a POS.

The guy put a sticker across the back bumper that says Ferrari. That should tell you something!

It's one of the worst I've seen.

 

I stopped by and caught the owner as he was leaving. Not sure what he is or plans to do with that place. Seems mysterious. It's the owner's car, not for sale at this time. It's an 82 GTSI with 52k miles onit. Yes scratches, dings, and chips due to front window breaking over front end of car. Seats are trashed.

 

I keep on forgetting to look for this place each time I'm in the area.
