I have just been quoted $7500 + tax for the major 3 year engine out service at my local official Ferrari Garage. Is that the going rate? Seems very expensive to me? (If I get it done before the end of March they will give a 10% discount whopee!!!)

    For a dealer yeah.

But you can do it yourself for about $1,500 - $2000. All the info you need on how to do it yourself can be found running a search through the archives.

Just so you know I did the engine out major on my 348 by myself with no shop lift, in the garage at my house. Nothing you can't do yourself.

Well be sure to let me know when. Maybe we'll have another Stooge fest. The last one at PLugz' place was fun.

Thats about right with tensioners and a new water pump. Those 2 items add close to $2500 alone. Add the belts, cam seal kit, cam cover gasket kit, fuel filters plugs, air filter, coolant, engine oil, accesory belts, brake fluid, clutch check (more$$ if it needs to be replaced), exhaust gaskets, hoses (one hose retails for close to $200 bucks and its about 6 inches long), and anything else that needs attention, add the labor..yer pretty close to that number.

You serious about the SC. I've been thinking real hard anout a SC or turbos. An extra 100HP in this car would be just what the doctor ordered.

    Darrell.
