I don't know if this info's been provided but when I noticed my local Pep Boys had a large number of hood/trunk struts by Stabilus I went searching online for the right part. My trunk struts are new but now the front hood is not holding in the open position. Here's a link where I think I found mine for my 328:

They seem to be the liftomatic type and they have an interactive search page to find these for a different car. I think I've found the right one from the list, now I need to see if Pep Boys actually has it and it matches. Hope this helps, I think it will cut the cost of these struts and make them easier to get.

    Hi Jeff,

How did you make out here? Did you find a suitable strut?

Ordered them from Daniel at Ricambi, didn't find anything close locally. Got a pair so I guess I'm set for awhile. I don't know why they are sold as pairs if only one is needed.

Anybody knows the place where they rebuilt the strut? I have a pair of the original that has the Ferrari stencil on it that I like to have it rebuilt so I can reuse it.

The ones I got for the front were original, with the Ferrari stencil on them. The rears, more expensive, did not.

Like miketuason I'd like to have my original struts rebuilt.
Anyone knows where it can be done?
