The car is actually the worst place to use your bluetooth headset. It's the most convenient, but it picks up way too much background noise and the person on the other end will get very annoyed by it. If you're on the freeway, it's almost unbearable for them. The best place to use it for me is throughout the day, while on the cpu, etc... I get to use both hands for typing and working while talking on the phone.

I don't like to wear it in public, but I sometimes forget it's on my ear and will quickly remove it when I realize it is still on my ear.

Keep one thing in mind though... The same was thought about cell phones when we first started seeing people talk on them 10-15 years ago while doing regular, everyday things. Many people would look at them like "what a tool trying to showoff". Then it became the norm for almost everybody in the world. For those of you who haven't used a bluetooth headset, once you begin to, you will never be able to go back to not using one. It's the most convenient thing in the world for me.

I bought mine 14 months ago and have yet to remove it from the package. It's just too goofy to wear.

Think it looks ghey too, though i would not be surprised if say in 10 years are so its more than the norm than not. Things change, whoever would have thought bottled water would ever be the most popular bottled drink sold!?

Pretty soon all sports cars will have bluetooth with F1 trannies and cupholders for bottled water....who woulda thunk it

Unfortunately they are catching on, but make the wearer look like a tech nerd, wannabe sales associate, or mobile telemarketer.

i don't have a clue, but i suspect prices in the US are cheaper. Nokia's N series here costs over RM1000, which is about $300 in the US.

a basic Nokia here, with bluetooth and all costs between RM700-RM800, roughly between US200-US250.

prices of Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson here have been dropping well here. the competition in the cell phone market in Malaysia is pretty tight at the moment.

right now, Sony Ericsson's MP3 phone has been getting an upper hand lately.

    Lady: Hey
    Me: Hello
Lady: I havent talked to you in forever
    Me: alright how are you
    Lady: How are your kids
Then I knew she wasnt talking to me so I walked away and laughed.

I think it's sad that it's now become a fashionable accoutrement. I just laugh at them and shake my head.

I heard a similar story. One guy was in a bathroom stall next to a guy that started a conversation. It was pretty funny!

I have two of them and I just cannot bring myself to do it (I use them in the car only). I just get the feeling that the people who do wear those things out in public do so for a false sense of self-aggrandizement.

People who wear them in public make me laugh.....they look like fools.

I understand why you'd wear one in a car......but their is absolutely no need when walking around.

These things are a pet hate of mine. We're getting sales reps and visitors coming to meet at work wearing them. I ask them to remove, as the beeping and flashing is too disruptive and I got sick of having to repeat myself.

I'm in Los Angeles so I"m sure I'll see someone with one in each ear soon.

I'm sure the fad will burn out soon when they have proven to cause cancer or set someone on fire.
