Well, my Viper is good for about high 11's at the track. I was on a typical road where he kinda reved on me a few times, but it's common for alot of cars to do that, so I really didn't give it much thought. I also saw it was a big ol' 4 door BMW sedan, so I minded my own business. Well, he kinda got behind me (following me) as I was approaching Mopac, a highway loop here in Austin. I got on Mopac and let the BMW kinda catch up a bit, then I nailed it! I was Bangin through gears, trying to see if I was pulling this dude and I was barely inching away! Needless to say, I was very impressed. Maybe it was modded a bit? He may have also been flooring it as he got on the highway, so when I finally nailed it, his momentum already had him going and I was playing catch up. But anyhoo.... lol! I can almost swear ot was a 745(?)

maybe the 760 with the v12? there was someone on this site a few years back who got their tail handed to them in their 355 by a mercedes sedan with kids waving at him in the back seat as they passed him.

It was dark, so couldn't see hte model # too well, but I still think it said 74(something). When he revved at me, it wasn't too terrible loud, but I can't hear much over my exhaust anyways....

We had a 745i when they first came out, and yes they are very very fast cars. BMW builds a good machine.

However the value was terrible, we paid $82k in 2002 and sold it in 2005 for $43k... :(

Yea, it was black, looked stock. Not sure if the wheels were chrome or polished, but don't think they were dark in color. I found a pic of an 04' on GOOGLE and the tail lights are the same, so maybe it was an 04.

I just sold my 745i, there is no way it was this fast. I've owned many cars and this is no Buick, but you must have been up against a 760. They look the same, for the most part, with the exception of the engine.

Also, for the guy that said he was smoked by a Mercedes in his 355, I can agree. My e55 (0-60 in 4.6 seconds) was faster then my Ferrari...sad but true.

    Just my $.02

It could have been an Alpina B7. Based on the short wheel base 7 series with supercharged V8 and 500 hp.

Is it at all possible that It could have been an M5? those have something like 500hp IIRC.

The windows were dark and this was at night, so not sure of the driver. It was not an M series. It looked exactly like this from the rear, http://www.carsmithmotors.com/test/pics/CIMG3233.JPG but may have been a 7???, and not a 745 since it was a bit hard to see. I mean, even if my car was just running crappy for some reason, that car still seemed like it would be good for mid 12's at the track the way it hung on my ass.

No **** My S 55 was faster than my 360. That car (S 55) was the only one I've ever regreted getting rid of. When they come out with an S 63, I just may get rid of my 360 for it.

The E55 is a helluva machine. My parents used to own one,(pre-supercharged) and it was still fast. He even took it down to MSR for the show they filmed there. Bested a 355 and a Carrera S(I don't think that guy could drive very well though)

    as for the 760
    Engine
    N73B60
    Displacement
    6.0 L(5972 cc/364 in³)
    Power
    327 kW (445 hp) @ 6000
    Torque
    600 N·m (442 ft·lbf) @ 3950
    Redline
    6500

    I hope that formats okay.

BMW doesn't make off the line cars, they're big GTs are all high speed more than acceleration.
Look at the 850. Will be smoked by a mustang GT off the line, but will easily destroy it from a roll.
Or the new M5. Definitely not a stoplight king. It has 500 hp, but only 385 torque or something around that. Just needs to be around the high end of its rev band to make some power.

Sounds like he was hunting you.
Probably a modded 7 series with turbos etc.
When you spend this kind of coin on an engine, whats the point unless you shame a Viper, Ferrari , etc every once in a while ?

No joke, the 760 is a couple 10 grand more than the 750 just to get the V12.

    According to BMW's website:
    2007 BMW 750i MSRP starts at $75,800
    2007 BMW 750li MSRP starts at $78,900
    2007 BMW 760li MSRP starts at $122,600

-I believe that V12 760li's usually go in the end for in the $130,000's, new of course.
