Here's a thought.... When I buy spare Porsche keys - the head can be removed from the blade portion. Is it possible that the Ferrari head can be removed from the blade - then buy just a blade - and get that cut?

I bought one of the precut keys from ferraristore and was greatly disappointed. Pictures do not represent what you get.

So... then what? Throw it away or file a complain and return the key? Too much trouble.

I opened one of the sides (there's a small hole), cut off the precut key and much of the plastic inside the key, leaving a hole for my 550 key. Then I stripped the plastic off the 550 key.

I filled the bottom with epoxy, placed my 550 key into the epoxy, filled epoxy on top and closed the lid. Took 20 min and is rock solid.

If I can do it, you can.

    I just received my key.

    I am pissed. Pre-cut.

How in the hell could I have ordered just 48 hours ago, and have this hunk of crap from Germany already?

I got an Enzo-Stradale key from a dealer about a year ago. It is red and has the shield on it. I paid a little over $200.00 for it after tax. I came home all excited and my wife couldn't understand why...at the time. I still have the key uncut and put it in the ignition when I go to car shows.

I think Art's also a locksmith and he's going to rework our ignition locks to accommodate the already cut keys!

hi greg, you know i have those scary tools, however, i think there is locksmith that works with the dealer and has the uncut part of the key and he inserts that into the red part of keyholder after removing the cut part of the original.(confused enough). Iwill do mine and see if it works.

I just got an email from Ferrari stating that "they do not understand how the add is misleading". Being that the item has already shipped, they suggest that I fill out an online return form and send the unopened package back to them when it arrives. I think I'm just gonna keep it. After all, I don't even have my 355 yet to try the key with! :)

I just got mine...looks great but obviously pre-cut.

I hope you have a solution, Art. If so, I'm in :)

This is the old trick-we speak Engilsh to take your $ but don't understand afterwards!

They will understand when I chase after them! If they want to sell here they will comply with consumer protection and truth in advertising laws.

This is a Ferrari company in the Netherlands! They can run but they can't hide.

Art, sounds like you are up to something!

One more thing. The more I look at the key the more I like it. My only complaint is that it seems "hollow". Does anyone know if the "real" Enzo/CS key feels the same?

consider sending your "silver" 360 key to Maranello Models and get it painted to match the color of your car...................$25.

Isn't it strange that Ferraristore, in their email reply to marcmc8867, cite security reasons, for the fact that Enzo key is precut, but they don't appear to have the same 'security' problem with the 612 Scaglietti key.

Methinks there is more to this saga than meets the eye! I smell a large rat!

    612 Scaglietti key
    Art. no.: 289990394
    Price
    € 148,75 (Inc.VAT)
    About this product:

I did that to one of mine, and they did a tremendous job on it.

I received my key today, and it's a masterful fraud.

I will contact the Calif A. G.'s office tomorrow and start the process. They will bring in the U.S,. Atty's office.

I have suspended the charge with A/E as well.

I will soon provide the necessary info to those who wish to pursue this.
